As the mornings and evenings turn chilly, it feels like the perfect season for a warm bowl of soup with rice. Sundaeguk (blood sausage soup) is one of my all-time favorite foods for moments like this, and I wanted a hearty meal, so I headed to Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch — a newly opened, clean and tidy sundaeguk lunch spot in Nokyang-dong, Uijeongbu that still carries the deep flavor of long tradition. Here's my review.
I searched by navigation and found it right away — an eye-catching sign on the street, clearly a brand-new building with a newly opened restaurant.
There was a parking space right in front, so no worries there. And since it was their opening anniversary, they were giving out a free glutinous sundae service — great news for me and my companion, both fans of glutinous sundae. The opening-anniversary service runs until the end of September, so keep that in mind if you'd like to try it.

Inside the restaurant and how the table kiosk ordering works
Yetnal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Nokyang Branch has a warm interior, maybe thanks to the friendly handwritten signs around the space. A few other diners were already eating, so we quietly took a table and ordered through the kiosk without disturbing anyone. The interior was bigger than I expected — plenty of space for group dining at lunch or dinner, making this a spacious Nokyang-dong sundaeguk lunch spot.

Every table has a sesame grinder, so grinding your own sesame straight into the soup brings out a nutty flavor — definitely try it. I did the same.

Every ingredient in the sundaeguk was tasty. My companion, who came with me, loved the rich yet mild broth and preferred the glutinous sundae set.
The free glutinous sundae service was so good I wanted more — luckily, since we'd ordered the sundae set too, we got to enjoy boiled meat and glutinous sundae again, which made the meal even more filling.
