Low-ABV art cocktails near Hongdae bars in Seoul: Rosetta
In short
Rosetta is a whisky and cocktail bar near Hongdae in Mapo, Seoul, a 6-minute walk from Hapjeong Station exits 3 and 4, serving an 'ART TO DRINK' menu of cocktails named after famous paintings. Dropping in for a second round after dinner with a friend, the writer picked low-ABV options — Summer Sunshine and The Water Lily Pond — then tried Madame X with its edible perfume and a fruit cheese platter. Between the 19th-century European interior and the playlist, it's a place worth going back to.

Not quite ready to go home after dinner
Hello, this is DANI :D My friend and I had dinner and it felt like too soon to just head home, so we came for a cocktail somewhere with good vibes ❤️ This is Rosetta, near Hapjeong and Hongdae - ✧₊⁺ The atmosphere the moment we opened the door was really striking. I still haven't forgotten it ~~
Shall we go in together ~? The store's playlist was so good ,, 🎶 I honestly wish someone would upload the full playlist from that night. The space is styled after 19th-century Europe and France, so it feels elegant and classic, and the staff welcomed us so comfortably and kindly that it was easy to just settle in without any pressure.

'ART TO DRINK', the famous-painting cocktail menu
More than anything, the biggest reason Rosetta drew me in was the concept of "ART TO DRINK" — expressing art as a glass of liquor.
Just as a work of art doesn't always need a frame, there's no fixed way to enjoy beauty
is the idea they say the space is built around, translated into cocktails.
Here's Rosetta's full famous-painting cocktail series menu. Each drink has its own name and story, so my friend and I agonized over what to pick! Neither of us handles alcohol that well, so we paid close attention to the ABV haha. Whisky, food menu, and more below ⬇️

Our order list
Our order list was ta-da —
- The Water Lily Pond ₩21,000
- Summer Sunshine ₩21,000
- Madame X ₩23,000
- Seasonal Fruits cheese platter ₩18,000
Full shot first 📸

Summer Sunshine — yuzu and lemongrass with a sheet of seaweed
The Summer Sunshine I picked. A cocktail of fragrant yuzu and lemongrass with a subtle pear sweetness and the refreshing lift of carbonation. It was incredibly crisp from the very first sip.
The salty note from the seaweed served alongside added a fun twist. Paired with the cocktail's brightness, it felt like taking a sip of sea breeze.

The Water Lily Pond — a wine base with fruit and herbs
My friend's pick, The Water Lily Pond. A cocktail with the distinctive flavor of grape skin from the wine base, layered with various fruits and herbs. Just like the name, it tasted like the freshness of the moment nature first starts to breathe. For that moment, I felt fully possessed by a Super N — for reference, I'm an S. Hehe..

Madame X — rose and hibiscus edible perfume
Madame X, which I ordered because the description had me so curious. A cocktail with the sensual sweetness of port wine and the heavy lingering finish of oak, plus an edible perfume made of rose and hibiscus. It was noticeably heavier than the first two cocktails, and the scent — honestly insane. Enjoying the sweet rose scent first and then sipping slowly felt less like drinking a cocktail and more like experiencing a piece of art..! The ABV was a touch higher than the first two, so I couldn't drink much of it, but it was such a special experience that I was satisfied 😉
If you don't know much about alcohol, or you're in the mood for something different, they say the staff will recommend a matching menu item if you tell them your preferences.

Fruit cheese platter
The fruit cheese platter we ordered as a snack. Two kinds of seasonal fruit, camembert cheese, chocolate, and jamón. From sweet fruit to salty jamón to soft cheese, it was great to pair between sips of cocktail. Yum yum.

How about for a date or a group gathering
Personally, I felt Rosetta also works really well as a date spot near Hapjeong Station. The tables are spaced generously and the atmosphere is comfortable even with several people, and there's a room that seats up to 9 people, so it seems like a great fit for a date that needs good vibes, a friend gathering, or a small work dinner.
Another plus is being able to enjoy anything from a light highball or beer to whisky and cocktails ~! They also offer an English menu and guidance for foreign visitors, so keep that in mind if you're looking for somewhere to drink around Hongdae or Sangsu.

In summary
📎 A place I'd especially recommend to anyone who wants to experience a new kind of cocktail in a special atmosphere. If you're a cocktail lover looking for a good bar near Hapjeong Station, enjoy the menu's visuals and stories together. I fell for the atmosphere here and I'll definitely be back 🌹✨
