Mother-daughter naengmyeon meal for ₩38,000 at Seoul Myeonok
In short
Seoul Myeonok is a pyongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodle) specialist near Pyeongtaek Station, Gyeonggi, also featured on the Korean TV show Life of a Master. Visiting with her mom, the writer ordered pyongyang naengmyeon, bibim naengmyeon, and a half plate of domestic pork suyuk (boiled pork) for a filling ₩38,000 meal. The verdict: a real noodle-focused meal, worlds apart from the naengmyeon served as an afterthought at Korean BBQ places.

I was looking for somewhere to eat naengmyeon near Pyeongtaek Station and ended up at Seoul Myeonok!
This place has been known for pyongyang naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth) for a long time, and it was featured on Life of a Master, so I was curious. Eating it in person, it definitely felt different from the naengmyeon that comes as a side dish at regular Korean BBQ places.
Getting to Seoul Myeonok from Pyeongtaek Station
The address is 12 Pyeongtaek-ro 57beon-gil, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, and since it's near Pyeongtaek Station, it was convenient to meet up nearby and head straight in for a meal. My mom and I went together and sat right down to eat.

At first I just went to eat naengmyeon, but since it had been on Life of a Master, I was a little curious even before arriving. Eating it in person, I could see why it's known for its naengmyeon!
What was the atmosphere like inside?
Walking in, the place was overall clean with a comfortable atmosphere for a meal. It had that light, unfussy feel typical of a naengmyeon specialist, so it seemed like a good spot for a casual lunch too.

I visited with my mom, and while just having naengmyeon is nice, being able to order suyuk or other Korean dishes alongside made choosing our meal easy. I thought this would also be a good spot for people near Pyeongtaek Station looking for a solo meal, a family meal, or a casual lunch spot.
Seoul Myeonok's menu and prices

The menu included pyongyang naengmyeon and bibim naengmyeon, along with a variety of Korean dishes like domestic pork suyuk, braised beef short ribs, hanwoo beef bulgogi hot pot, galbitang, and grilled bulgogi.

That day I ordered pyongyang naengmyeon + bibim naengmyeon + a half plate of suyuk, which came to ₩38,000 total. With two bowls of naengmyeon plus suyuk, it turned into a surprisingly filling spread!
I was a little surprised by the portion size when the naengmyeon arrived. Each bowl came out bigger than I expected, and I wondered if we could finish it all — but once I started eating, it was so good that we ended up finishing almost everything haha.
How the pyongyang naengmyeon, bibim naengmyeon, and suyuk tasted

The pyongyang naengmyeon's broth was especially memorable. The broth flavor was deep while still letting the taste of the noodles themselves come through — it really felt like eating naengmyeon at a specialist restaurant makes a difference.

The bibim naengmyeon was also delicious, with the sauce blending well into the noodles. If pyongyang naengmyeon was all about the broth, bibim naengmyeon had its own charm from mixing the sauce and noodles together!!

And the suyuk we ordered alongside was genuinely delicious too. The meat was boiled until tender, and after tasting it, my mom kept praising how soft and tasty it was!

I originally wasn't planning to finish it all since the portions looked huge, but once the food arrived, my mind completely changed. In the end, between the pyongyang naengmyeon, bibim naengmyeon, and suyuk, it was all so good that we ate everything...
It especially felt different from the usual experience of eating meat at a BBQ place and having naengmyeon as dessert. Since this place is a naengmyeon specialist where the noodles are the main event, there was real enjoyment in focusing on the broth, noodles, and seasoning.

If you want a proper naengmyeon meal near Pyeongtaek Station, this is worth looking up as a Pyeongtaek Station naengmyeon spot — and since you can eat suyuk along with the noodles, it was a solid, filling restaurant near Pyeongtaek Station!
