The day I wanted to dip plain naan in curry

I really love Indian food. Especially, I love tearing off pieces of warm plain naan and generously dipping them into Indian curry.

Plain naan and Indian curry combination

So whenever I crave Indian food, I tend to seek out curry and naan. This time, I visited India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch near Samseong Station.

An atmosphere that feels like a quick trip from Samseong Station

As soon as I entered, the Indian staff gave the place the clear feeling of an authentic local restaurant. With the distinctly Indian atmosphere and the aroma of the food added in, the atmosphere itself was a welcome thing for someone like me who already loves Indian food.

If you want to feel as though you have taken a quick trip while having a meal near Samseong Station, I thought a place like this would be nice.

A single-person set with added tandoori chicken and samosas

That day, I ordered a single-person set. I also ordered the tandoori chicken and samosas I wanted separately. The single-person set comes with curry and naan as well as tandoori chicken, green salad, lassi, rice, and more, so it was great for tasting a little of several dishes.

Adding tandoori chicken and samosas made the table more plentiful than I expected.

Curry alternately with naan and rice

Because I love plain naan, when I go to an Indian restaurant I look for basic plain naan before other varieties. I tore the warm naan by hand, generously dipped it in curry, and took a bite. As expected, this combination was delicious.

The mild, chewy texture of the naan combined with the rich flavor of the curry made it something I kept reaching for. It was nice with rice too, but I think dipping naan in curry is still more my preference.

This time, I also ordered nasi separately and tried the curry with both naan and rice. Even with the same curry, it felt a little different with naan than it did with rice, so alternating between them made the meal feel more varied.

I ate the tandoori chicken and salad too, then finished with lassi, and it felt like I had sampled a good range of dishes.

When you are craving something different near Samseong Station

You know those days when you always end up choosing the same familiar dishes for lunch or dinner near Samseong Station? On days like that, I think choosing Indian food once in a while would be nice.

In particular, because all of the staff at India The Durbar are Indian, it felt as though I had arrived somewhere local from the moment I entered, not only once the food came out. If you already like curry and plain naan as I do, I think it will feel even more welcome.

If you are visiting alone, you can try several dishes at once with a single-person set, and if you like rice too, as I do, adding nasi could be a good idea. On a day when you want something a little different near Samseong Station, or when Indian food is on your mind, you might want to think of India The Durbar Samseong Station Branch.
