Since I arrived right at my appointment time, I could start the magic perm without waiting. Once I sat down, I told Director Serim, who'd be handling my hair that day, that I was over 32 weeks pregnant and wanted a magic straight perm. She kindly explained that lifting the roots slightly before straightening would give a natural volume, and that she'd adjust the process to suit my thin hair well.

Since the director has so much experience with magic straightening and perms, I went in with high expectations. She trimmed my damaged ends a little and gave my hair a basic shampoo wash,

then applied the chemical solution carefully — her hands were incredibly precise and fast! You could really tell how much experience and skill went into it, honestly impressive 🤭

After all the solution was applied, she brought over iced chocolate and cookies. My hair was wrapped and heat-treated with checks in two rounds, and sipping sweet iced chocolate during that time felt like pure healing! I'd been worried about sitting for so long while pregnant, but because she kept checking on me the whole way through, I could relax through the whole process 🎶

After the heat treatment, my hair was rinsed again in the shampoo room and the actual straightening work began in earnest. She straightened each strand with the straightening iron so carefully, and I could see my curly, unruly hair gradually calming down bit by bit. Watching it happen was so satisfying haha. After the treatment, she also explained in detail how to care for my hair afterward to keep the results lasting.

After straightening my whole head, she finished by applying a neutralizer, then rinsed it with water — and with that, the roughly 2-hour magic perm treatment was done ✨

My hair came out calm and glossy, worth every bit of the care that went into it — since my curl was so severe, the before-and-after difference was huge.
