Seoul hair salon for men's fillet cut and twin perm: HairOnDeu Gunja
In short
HairOnDeu Gunja Station Branch is a men's-cut hair salon on the second floor near Gunja Station in Gwangjin, Seoul. A visitor growing out short hair after a hair transplant got a men's fillet cut with a twin perm at HairOnDeu Gunja Station Branch, done as a first cut, then the perm, then a finishing cut over 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours. One designer handled everything from cut to blow-dry and the perm left almost no chemical smell, so HairOnDeu is worth a consultation if you want a short, clean men's style.

Hi everyone! I've been trying out different styles since my hair transplant, and it's already time for another salon visit. This time I'm sharing an honest review of the style I tried.

After the transplant, I've been able to try short styles I couldn't do before. Wondering what to try this time, I decided to go for a change at HairOnDeu, a hair salon near Gunja Station.
Where is HairOnDeu Gunja Station Branch, and what are its hours?
HairOnDeu Gunja Station Branch is on the 2nd floor at 576 Cheonho-daero, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, near Gunja Station. Hours are 10:30–20:00, and parking is available.

HairOnDeu is located near Gunja Station, so it's very accessible for those taking public transit. On top of that, parking is available too, making it easy to visit by car.

Stepping inside, I was struck by the clean white-toned interior that gave off a comfortable atmosphere. The staff greeted me kindly too, making it a space that put me in a good mood.

I arrived a bit earlier than my reservation, waited briefly, and then the consultation began.

Why the consultation recommended a men's fillet cut with a twin perm
The style recommended at HairOnDeu Gunja Station Branch was a fillet cut with a twin perm. I got my style consultation from Manager Minkyu, who had the most reviews for men's cuts. After sitting down and discussing my current hair condition and the style I wanted, Manager Minkyu recommended this style.

Lighter than a heavy-falling dandy cut, and rather than the tidy look of a parted perm, it's a style with a natural flow — apparently trending these days in styles worn by actors Seo Kang-joon, Kim Moo-yeol, Seo In-guk, and Lee Je-hoon.

It was actually a style I'd wanted to try, and since Manager Minkyu said it was the style he does most often, I decided to go for it right away. Since it involves both a cut and a perm, he explained it would take about 1.5 to 2 hours.

How long the fillet cut and twin perm take, step by step
At HairOnDeu Gunja Station Branch, I got a first cut, then the perm, and finally a second finishing cut. There was some wait time during the perm, but they prepared a drink for me so I could cool down — the coffee was really good too.

What I liked most about using HairOnDeu near Gunja Station was that my designer handled the entire process alone! Usually at salons, designers just do the cut and explanation while staff assist with perms and other work — which always felt a bit awkward to me. But Manager Minkyu did everything himself, from the cut to the perm to blow-drying, and I really liked that.

The finished style: chemical smell and how the back was trimmed
Once the finishing cut was done, the style was complete. My previous style relied on wax at the ends, so over time the tips looked messy. But this time it felt noticeably clean. On top of that, there was almost no chemical smell, which surprised me. Perms and dyes often leave a lingering smell, so it was nice to have it be so clean.

The back of my head was styled neatly too. Just as explained beforehand, it's a style with a natural texture and layering, which I think would be perfect for anyone who prefers short, clean styles.

How to style a men's fillet cut with wax at home
Manager Minkyu shared a lot of helpful tips too. He recommended using a runnier type of wax, and showed me how to style it in 3-4 steps, both with bangs down and bangs pushed up. Styling the bangs differently really gives a different feel. Thanks to him, I learned how to try several looks depending on how I style it.

Today I shared my review of getting a men's fillet cut and twin perm at HairOnDeu, a hair salon near Gunja Station. If you're considering a new style like I was, I'd recommend getting a recommendation tailored to your hair condition and usual care routine.
