I'd been stressing over how much gray hair I had lately and finally decided to dye it brown. Before, it was just a few strands so I ignored it, but at some point I found long white hair running from root to tip haha. Couldn't put it off any longer, so I decided to dye it — and while looking for a hair salon in Cheongna I could visit after work, I found Goeum Hair Salon.

The Cheongna branch of Goeum Hair Salon stays open until 10pm on weekdays, making it a rare hair salon in Cheongna where 9-to-6 office workers can get dye jobs done after work. Most salons only take dye appointments until 5 or 6pm, so I was starting to despair about ever getting it done on a weekday — until I found Goeum Hair Salon, which does perms and dyeing that late.
The biggest perk was definitely being open until 10pm on weekdays!! I went in after work myself, and it was great not to feel rushed while getting my hair dyed. Since I work six days a week, carving out separate weekend time for a salon visit always feels like such a waste ㅠ

You can easily find Goeum Hair Salon by taking the elevator in the Exlu Tower commercial building.
Once you step off the elevator, there are signs posted everywhere so I found it right away!
Inside Goeum Hair Salon: white lighting and a tidy one-person space
Even from outside, this Cheongna hair salon gave off a white, bright feeling.
It looks like it's currently run as a one-person shop by the owner. I liked that she focused on just my hair!

Getting dark brown gray coverage at Goeum Hair Salon in Cheongna
After a consultation, Goeum Hair Salon only did a dark brown dye. My hair was already quite loose and damaged from frequent perms, so this time I decided to just get it dyed. Since I came in specifically because the gray hair was bothering me, it was important that the color evened out naturally overall.

They gave me an iced Americano and a homemade financier, so I could spend the waiting time comfortably while the dye set.
I hadn't eaten dinner so I was starving — really enjoyed this.
How the dark brown color turned out
Once the dye job was done, the color turned out more natural than I expected. Most of all, the gray hair that had been bothering me was gone, which alone made everything feel so much cleaner! It wasn't overly dark-looking, more of a calm brown tone, so it didn't feel heavy — I think I'll dye it once more before wedding photos next time.
They also specialize in women's layered cuts and layered perms, so next time I might do a layered cut plus dye?

What I personally found most convenient about this visit was, again, that it's a great option for office workers to visit on weekday evenings after work. Dyeing and perming especially take longer than a simple cut, so staying open late really mattered.
BEFORE & AFTER comparison of the dye job at Goeum Hair Salon, this Cheongna hair salon. My hair was quite damaged from frequent perms, so there was a noticeable color difference between the roots and the lower hair, but it seems to have blended really well — very satisfied!
The base dye price is set at ₩80,000, which might make you think 'is that expensive?', but even with hair down past my shoulders, the length surcharge was only ₩20,000. I liked that the length surcharge was on the cheaper side haha.
