Paju café with EV charging and olive ciabatta: Barirus

Ugh, why does my energy always hit negative numbers every time I go shopping?

My legs were aching and I urgently needed an iced americano transfusion, so I frantically found this place — and honestly the space and the taste were so perfect I have to write about it.. (seriously)

It's especially great because it's a dawn café open until 2am, making it the ultimate late-night drive stop ~ let me give you the full rundown of Barirus!

Where is Barirus, and what are its hours and parking like?

• Hours: Mon-Thu 10:00 - 21:00 / Fri-Sun 10:00 - 02:00 (next day)

There are lots of pretty spots in Paju, but finding a dawn café that's still lit up late at night is genuinely hard — Barirus stays open until 2am on Fri, Sat, Sun, so it's perfect for a night outing.

The parking lot is also huge, befitting a large café, so you can park anywhere super easily.

There's even a separate EV charging station, which is a huge win for EV drivers visiting Paju.

Inside Barirus and the outdoor tent zone

Head up to the 2nd floor and you're greeted by a fantastic sunset media photo spot — it's honestly impossible not to take pictures there haha.

Everyone was taking a ton of photos there.. so I sneakily took a few too, haha (felt like I'd wandered into an art gallery).

Once inside, the high ceilings paired with floor-to-ceiling windows give it the ultimate sense of openness..!

The tables are also spaced generously, so even with a crowd it doesn't feel chaotic — just a comfy vibe perfect for chatting.

On one side there's a lush green lawn terrace and a tent zone, so on a cool day sitting outside would honestly be pure healing..!

There were families with kids running around and taking photos too. Seeing those adorable, happy little kids almost made me want to head outside too..

But this old-lady-at-heart chose the blasting AC indoors instead, since the scorching sun is just too much^^... (I refuse to shed a single drop of sweat)

Barirus menu: olive ciabatta, mocha bun and lemon financier

Being a big café, Barirus also sells brunch, but since we'd already eaten, we went with iced americano and bakery items instead.

Financiers, red plum blossom bread, cakes, cheese bread, salt bread, garlic naan, and more.

There were so many kinds of bread that I agonized for ages before picking olive ciabatta, mocha bun, and lemon financier.

Iced americano

The iced americano is made with house-roasted beans, so it's not the least bit flat — really nutty and smooth. Like an oasis in the desert.. one sip and all your fatigue just melts away, haha.

Olive ciabatta

The olive ciabatta has a plain crust and chewy inside, and the more you chew, the more the salty flavor of the olives comes through,

and it's packed generously with olives, so it's an absolute hit for olive fanatics. Alternate it with the sweet desserts and you can just keep eating forever, haha.

Mocha bun

The mocha bun has a crispy crust and that sweet mocha smell already gets your mouth watering. The inside is soaked in butter and moist all through. Goes so well with coffee..!

Lemon financier

Look at the size of this lemon financier.. every financier I've ever seen has been finger-sized, but this one is palm-sized.

It had a bright, fresh lemon fragrance and was moist with no dryness at all — a real cheat code that pairs perfectly with coffee.

Is Barirus worth the trip? Final verdict

Delicious bakery goods, fragrant coffee, and a spacious place where you can comfortably stay late without feeling rushed. With the outdoor tent zone too, it looked like a great spot to bring kids along.
