Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi is a Blue Ribbon restaurant in Gapyeong where dipping dakgalbi into cheese fondue is pure art, and it's pet-friendly too.

My husband, our dog Jjanggu, and I went to the Jaraseom Flower Festival over the weekend, and I'd heard there was a Blue Ribbon dakgalbi spot near Jaraseom and Namiseom. I went to try it myself and now I get why it's Blue Ribbon. It's pet-friendly, so a lot of dog owners come here — here's my review of Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi!

Where is Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi, and where do you park?

Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi is 3 minutes from Gapyeong Station and about 5 minutes by car from Jaraseom, so it's very accessible.

What the Anbanji Dakgalbi building looks like

The Anbanji Dakgalbi building was really huge. There's a parking lot right in front and another one across the street, so parking is easy.

We came straight here for lunch after the Jaraseom Flower Festival. Around noon there were still quite a few open seats, but by the time we left the place had filled up.

Bringing a dog: a cage is required at Anbanji Dakgalbi

Anbanji Dakgalbi allows pets, but you need a cage! If you don't have one, they said they can lend you one temporarily.

Inside Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi: seating and atmosphere

So many people, right? Maybe because it's a Blue Ribbon restaurant, it was packed. Seeing babies as well as grandmas and grandpas there, I can confirm this is a Gapyeong dakgalbi spot people of all ages can enjoy.

Since we have a dog, we went to the pet-friendly seating. Other tables had dogs eating alongside their owners too. The dogs were so quiet you wouldn't even know they were there!

The banchan (side dishes) were pickled garlic, seasoned bean sprouts, two kinds of dakgalbi sauce, ssamjang (dipping sauce), lettuce wraps, pickled cabbage, and pickled radish.

Salt-grilled dakgalbi with cheese fondue: how it tastes

You'd think cheese fondue only goes well with the marinated version, right? Wrong! It was delicious with the salt-grilled version too 🤍. And they gave a really generous amount of cheese.

The original salt-grilled dakgalbi, 17,000 won

They put the salt-grilled dakgalbi on the grill first and told us to flip it often and eat it once it was cooked just right. It has a subtle charcoal-smoked flavor. They gave us so much charcoal that the heat was no joke 🔥

Looks like it's finally all cooked. The seasoning isn't overly strong or salty, so you can taste the dakgalbi's own flavor — light and easy to eat. We stirred the cheese fondue with our chopsticks to melt it a bit more.

Cheese fondue for dipping, 5,000 won

There's so much cheese that if you order 2 servings, some will be left over. We dipped it into ssam wraps, tried it with pickled cabbage, and even mixed it with dakgalbi sauce, pickled cabbage, and garlic scapes — everything was delicious, no matter what 💗💗

Self-serve corner at Anbanji Dakgalbi

When they first brought the side dishes, there was no dongchimi (watery radish kimchi), so we scooped some ourselves from the self-serve corner. On a hot day, ice-cold dongchimi is a must!

Buckwheat mak guksu, 11,000 won

This dish is a gem! So delicious, I really nailed this order 👍 The nutty sesame oil flavor combined with the savory kick of the seaweed flakes pairs so well with the meat. The julienned radish inside is especially the kicker!

Verdict: who should visit Namiseom Anbanji Dakgalbi

When you think of Gapyeong, you have to eat dakgalbi! It's a great stop before or after visiting Namiseom or Jaraseom, and it satisfies everyone — young and old, and even pet owners. The parking lot is big and spacious too, so it's super convenient. ⭐️Highly recommend!⭐️
