Pre-flight dinner near Jeju Airport: 300g of 3 cuts at Dolgyeok Hanwoo
In short
Dolgyeok Hanwoo is a hanwoo (Korean beef) and black pork restaurant in Yeon-dong, Jeju City, about 10 minutes by bus from Jeju International Airport. After an 8-hour hike on Hallasan and before an evening flight, the writer ordered one serving each of manong galbi (garlic-marinated short rib), hanwoo galbi and cubed black pork jowl for 300g total, with hanwoo seaweed soup included free and refillable. Three servings between two people was more than filling at Dolgyeok Hanwoo, and the meal ended with a complimentary fresh carrot juice after paying.

After climbing Hallasan I needed protein, but I also had to catch an evening flight home. So I searched for a beef and black pork restaurant near Jeju Airport and found Dolgyeok Hanwoo! The name itself (literally "Charge Hanwoo") already won me over, haha.
How to get from Jeju Airport to Dolgyeok Hanwoo, and parking
Dolgyeok Hanwoo is about a 10-minute bus ride from Jeju International Airport. Even with an evening flight, I could eat comfortably without feeling rushed.
After more than 8 hours of hiking, I really needed protein, so I charged straight to Dolgyeok Hanwoo, haha. Parking is available too, so it's convenient if you're driving. For details, check the official Naver Place info!
Inside Dolgyeok Hanwoo and the 5 PM opening rush

You can watch live as they slice the meat you ordered in the open kitchen, haha.

I arrived right at the 5pm opening, but Dolgyeok Hanwoo already had plenty of customers seated. By the time we were eating, the place had filled up fast, so I'd recommend going right at opening if you're visiting during peak hours to avoid a wait.

Grilling hanwoo while looking out at the wide windows — how good does that sound? The calm black interior also gives it a more upscale hanwoo-restaurant feel.
The menu and how to order: mix cuts from 300g

Dolgyeok Hanwoo's signature items are hanwoo brisket, garlic galbi, regular hanwoo galbi, hanwoo special cuts, and black pork cubed pork jowl. The first grill order starts at 300g, but you can mix different menu items to reach that minimum, so I ordered one serving each of garlic galbi, hanwoo galbi, and black pork cubed pork jowl.
For meal dishes, the yukhoe (raw beef) bibimbap, Dolgyeok jjajang jjapaghetti, and Dolgyeok hanwoo doenjang stew are famous, but after Hallasan I was craving carbs hard, so I ordered a bowl of rice too, haha. I was going to order the doenjang stew as well, but since seaweed soup comes included, I decided to try that first before ordering anything extra.

Dolgyeok Hanwoo's wild event!! Write either a Naver review or a Google review and get 1 bottle of alcohol (or a drink) free — write both and get 2 bottles;; amazing. On the back is a guide on how to eat at Dolgyeok Hanwoo, haha.
What comes with the table at Dolgyeok Hanwoo

They had the table set even before we ordered, haha.

Three types of pickled kimchi and fresh lettuce kimchi, plus various sauces and salt were set out.

Water, wet wipes, individually wrapped utensils, and the charcoal fire were all set.
We first ordered Chamisul soju, then thought — wait, we're in Jeju, right? So we switched it up and reordered the original Hallasan soju, haha. The two lightweights among us were thrilled, apparently.
Three cuts: hanwoo galbi, manong garlic galbi and cubed black pork jowl

The trio of hanwoo galbi, garlic galbi, and black pork cubed pork jowl arrives! They even set a cute (?) little dolhareubang stone on top. Just looking at the color, the freshness of that marbling is obvious.;;

Free hanwoo seaweed soup, refills included
And then the hanwoo miyeokguk (seaweed soup);;; the fact that this comes included as standard, and they even refill it once you finish... I ended up not (?) ordering the doenjang stew after all..ㅠㅠ It's loaded with hanwoo, so the broth had a deep flavor! There was also a faint hint of pepper, which made it even richer. I mixed rice into it and finished it off properly, haha.
Why hanwoo galbi is best cooked only 80%
First, I grilled the hanwoo galbi.

Hanwoo galbi tastes best grilled to about 80%!
My first bite was dipped in salt~~~ It was tender yet the more I chewed, the more the beefy flavor came through — it was insane.
The dipping sauce mix the staff made at the table
While we were eating, a staff member who'd been watching from afar suddenly came over and mixed a sauce for us, haha.

Dipping it deep into a mix of whole grain mustard, wasabi, the house sashimi sauce, and the special garlic chili soy sauce created an explosion of flavor and harmony, haha. That first mix was so delicious I kept making it myself for the rest of the meal, haha.

The fresh lettuce kimchi, eaten in between bites.
Manong garlic galbi, grilled to 90%
Garlic galbi is galbi meat marinated in a sweet, savory garlic sauce! Because of the marinade it was a bit trickier to grill, but the rich flavor went really well with plain white rice. Apparently garlic galbi tastes best cooked to about 90%, haha.

Cubed black pork jowl on the grill
Last up: black pork cubed pork jowl!! I figured since I'm in Jeju, I have to eat black pork, haha. One serving of pork jowl, pre-cut into cubes, haha. The portion was pretty generous.
The grill plate got a bit charred after cooking the marinated galbi, so the staff swapped it out for us.
The black pork cubed pork jowl, grilled crisp on the outside!!
Then kimchi suddenly appeared, haha, it was so good we asked for a refill, haha.

Eating it dipped in salt, haha. If hanwoo galbi was soft and melted in your mouth, the black pork cubed pork jowl had a chewier texture with a nice balance of charcoal smoke and meaty flavor!! The hanwoo was great, but I really would have regretted it if we hadn't ordered the black pork.

We even grilled the leftover garlic from the garlic galbi and made sure to use every bit of the grill, haha. I was worried the portions would be small, but two of us ate a hearty 3 servings' worth.
Free fresh carrot juice to finish the meal
On the way out after paying, the owner gave us a special little something!! Carrot juice, haha. It's 100% pure freshly squeezed carrot juice with no added syrup, and the carrot's natural sweetness alone made it plenty sweet and tasty, haha.
It was our last meal before heading home, and I was completely satisfied — Dolgyeok Hanwoo, a hanwoo restaurant near Jeju Airport!! Highly, highly recommend.
