Where is Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch, and is there parking?
Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch sits in front of Majeon Elementary School. It's a 3-minute walk from Exit 1 of Majeon Station on Incheon Line 2, so it's easy to reach. There's also a parking space behind the restaurant, making it great to visit by car.

Arriving at opening time: interior and seating
The inside of this Geomdan pork cutlet spot feels fresh and pleasant. I arrived right at opening time and it was cool, clean, and just about perfect. Seating comes in various styles, so it works well for family meals or solo dining.

What is on the menu at Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch?
The menu at Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch has a rich Japanese-food lineup, from pork cutlets like tenderloin, sirloin, and cheese, to curry, soba, and udon. After some thought, I went with the classic combo: cheese, sirloin, and tenderloin.

What comes on the tray: salad, soup and black rice
Since everything is cooked to order, there's a bit of a wait, but it's worth it for that just-fried taste! A truly neat tray arrives — salad, soup, rice, curry, and side dishes — brimming with rich Japanese flavor. The salad comes first, and it's crisp and nutty, just right for my taste.

Sweet-and-tangy crunchy pickles and kkakdugi (radish kimchi), plus a proper full bowl of black rice. At most Japanese restaurants the rice portion is small and doesn't quite fill you up, but here they give you plenty, which was satisfying. Honestly the meat alone could fill you up, but Koreans need rice with their meal to feel truly full.

Thick-cut sirloin katsu
The first thing I tried was the thick sirloin. Just one bite made it obvious why this place is famous among Geomdan pork cutlet spots — the thick meat and crisp breading were perfectly balanced. The fat at the edge was rendered and nutty, genuinely delicious.

Tenderloin katsu: 7 pieces with a truffle aroma
The tenderloin came in 7 pieces, from big chunks to small — such a generous portion. The juicy lean meat looked incredibly tender just by sight. A hint of truffle aroma made the flavor even more appealing and rich.

Even though it's all lean meat with no fat, it's soft and mild rather than dry. I wondered if they have their own aging technique, because it's tender enough that you could cut it up for a baby. Being thick, it still has a good chew, and there wasn't even a hint of gamey smell — just nutty and delicious.

The dish worth ordering: 6 pieces of cheese katsu
And here's the menu item I most want to recommend at this Geomdan pork cutlet spot — the cheese katsu. It comes with 6 pieces too, so there's no shortage. Just look at that cheese pull — it's packed with real, chewy mozzarella.

Cheese katsu is usually the kind of dish that gets heavy or cloying after just a couple pieces, but not here. Dip it in the sauce with fresh wasabi and mustard mixed in, and a clean spiciness kicks in, leaving no room for heaviness. Thanks to that, I finished the whole tray of cheese katsu without getting tired of it.

The mini curry comes free with every order
One big reason I love this Geomdan pork cutlet spot — they just give you this mini curry along with everything else. Getting a proper deeply flavored Japanese curry as a bonus means you can mix it into your rice and dip your meat in it too, and it gets deliciously out of hand.

Oh, and on my way out after saying goodbye, I spotted these cute old-school candies and grabbed a few. It reminded me of stealing candy from my grandmother as a kid, which made it feel even more nostalgic. A delicious place I left with a smile until the very end!
Who is Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch best for?
So my personal take after visiting this Geomdan pork cutlet spot is that it's a place overflowing with the charm of rich Japanese food. The interior is clean and pleasant, so it works well for a date or a family meal with kids. You can eat generously at a good price, so go check it out with style!
