Tenderloin pork cutlet with mini curry and cheese katsu in Geomdan
In short
Gyeomson Donkatsu Geomdan Branch is a Korean pork cutlet restaurant on Wanjeong-ro in Geomdan, Incheon. Trying the tenderloin cutlet, cheese katsu, and special sirloin cutlet for lunch with her boyfriend, the writer loved that mini curry and pickled onions come as standard sides, and the tenderloin was juicy enough with just salt and wasabi. With no break time between lunch and dinner, it's a solid pick for a lunch near Geomdan intersection.

My boyfriend said he wanted pork cutlet again after a while, so we visited Gyeomson Donkatsu, a well-known spot near Geomdan intersection! The reviews were good and I'd been curious about it for a while, so we finally went together and here's my honest review ◡̈

Parking and location — a building full of good restaurants
Interestingly, this building has a bunch of good restaurants gathered together! There's a parking space right in the middle, so parking is easy. There are plenty of seats, but since there are several restaurants in the building, seats might run short during peak times ··

The vibe inside and the bar seats
The interior is fairly spacious, and with good natural light it had a bright overall atmosphere. There are bar seats good for solo dining, so people eating alone should feel comfortable here too. The music playing in the store was calm too, which I liked — loud pop music while eating can be kind of distracting, but the mellow tunes made the meal relaxing!

Gyeomson Donkatsu uses only domestic Korean pork for both tenderloin and sirloin, and ages it for 14 days apparently. I could see the aging fridge on one side of the store, which made me even more excited!

They're currently running a review event too, so it might be worth joining if you visit!

You can order through the tablet on the table, and pay right away too, which was convenient.

After ordering, they even walk you through how to eat it deliciously haha
Tenderloin cutlet — best with just salt and wasabi

The tenderloin cutlet came out first! It said the cooking time was 15–20 minutes, but it came out in almost 10 minutes. There were quite a few customers, but the food still came out fast, so it seemed fine to visit during lunchtime too. The cutlet set comes with pickled onions, cubed radish kimchi, sauce, salad, salt, wasabi, soup, rice, and curry!

There's sesame powder sprinkled on top of the cutlet sauce especially, which adds a slightly nutty flavor that I really liked. You can also mix in mustard sauce to your taste!

Mini curry as a standard side
Curry is usually something you have to add on, but here a mini curry comes as standard. It's good with rice, and it went well with the cutlet too!

Oh, I really love pickled onions! I was so happy they came along with the meal ☺️

Finally, the tenderloin cutlet review! The tenderloin looked juicy just by sight. Taking a bite, the meat really was tender and juicy with the natural flavor of the meat coming through well — eating it with just salt or wasabi was the tastiest way!
Cheese katsu — crispy outside, gooey inside

I was curious about the cheese katsu too, so we ordered a small cheese piece to try, and the cheese was so soft and delicious — they must be using good quality cheese! Crispy outside, gooey inside, absolutely the best combo >_<
Special sirloin cutlet — since the regular sirloin was sold out

I originally wanted to order the regular sirloin cutlet, but it was sold out, so I ordered the special sirloin cutlet instead. They said it's nuttier and has deeper flavor than the regular sirloin!

The special sirloin cutlet had a clean yet nutty taste, and the lean meat and fat were well balanced so you could really taste the distinct sirloin flavor!
How was it for lunch near Geomdan intersection?
Gyeomson Donkatsu is officially a good spot near Geomdan intersection! Having no break time was great because you're not restricted by timing, and above all the portions felt satisfying for the price. The staff were bright and friendly too, so we left in a good mood. Recommended for anyone looking for a good restaurant near Wanjeong Station.
