Today I had ramen in Euljiro haha, at Mentsuru Euljiro Branch! The weather suddenly turned really chilly 🥶 and on days like this, a warm soup dish is exactly what I crave!! So this time I went to Mentsuru Euljiro Branch for a hot bowl of ramen 🍜🤍

I want to recommend this place to anyone looking for a good ramen restaurant in Euljiro or a restaurant that's comfortable for eating solo haha. We ordered two types of ramen plus handmade karaage so we could try a variety 🍜🍗 Warm ramen with crispy karaage on the side made for a really satisfying meal!

Mentsuru Euljiro Branch is on the 1st floor of 26 Mareunnae-ro 2-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 21:30. Last order is at 21:00, and there's no separate break time listed. There were so many types of ramen that we spent a while poring over the menu haha 🍜

What we ordered at Mentsuru and what it cost

Motsu ramen (beef offal ramen) ₩15,000 Shoyu ramen ₩11,000 Handmade karaage ₩7,000

With so many kinds of ramen to choose from, we went with motsu ramen, which felt like the signature dish, and shoyu ramen, the basic option 🍜 And when you're at a ramen restaurant, you've got to add a side dish too, right?🤩 So we also ordered the crispy handmade karaage 🍗🤍

How spicy is the motsu ramen at Mentsuru?

Mentsuru Euljiro Branch's motsu ramen (₩15,000) has beef offal in it, so it felt a bit different from regular ramen. The broth was spicier than expected 🌶️ I usually like spicy food, but even I found this one pretty hot haha. Still, the savory flavor of the beef offal added to the broth was really appealing, and best of all, there was zero offal smell — I enjoyed it a lot! ♥ ツ

This one's a good choice if you want to try something different from your usual ramen. That said, if you're not great with spicy food, keep that in mind before ordering!🤍

Shoyu ramen: the mild option at Mentsuru

Next up is the shoyu ramen!! 🍜 The shoyu ramen (₩11,000) is much less intense than the motsu ramen and has no spice at all, so honestly it suited my taste even better haha. The clean broth paired with the noodles went down easily and comfortably. When I eat ramen, I tend to prefer this kind of easygoing style over something too intense, so the shoyu ramen was more my type 🤍 If spicy dishes feel like a lot, I'd recommend the shoyu ramen!♥

Why the handmade karaage is worth adding

The handmade karaage (₩7,000) we ordered as a side arrived too! 🍗 It came out warm, as if freshly fried, which I loved right away haha. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside — the texture was really great! Alternating between ramen and a piece of karaage made for a fantastic combo 🤍 Definitely order it together ⭐️⭐️✨✨🌟🌟

Mentsuru for solo diners and for sharing two bowls

With such a wide range of ramen on the menu, Mentsuru Euljiro Branch seemed like a fine spot to visit alone haha. It's a good place to go when you're craving a hot bowl of ramen for lunch or dinner around Euljiro, and I'd also recommend ordering different types like we did and sharing them 🍜🤍 Being able to pick dishes based on personal taste was a nice touch too!
