What kind of restaurant is Nahonsha?

Today's post is about a solo shabu-shabu spot near Hapjeong Station — Nahonsha! Just like the name suggests, I found a place that's great for eating shabu-shabu alone, haha!

Nahonsha is a 6-minute walk from Hapjeong Station. It's right on the main road so it's easy to find. I've been around Hapjeong Station often, but this was my first time having solo shabu-shabu here!

The interior of Nahonsha is really clean and full of atmosphere. The seats are all distinctly separated, so it feels a bit private too. It seems like you could enjoy a quiet, relaxed meal here! It gave off a bit of a stylish gastropub vibe too.

There are also seats where you can sit facing the window. Unlike most solo shabu-shabu places, the seats themselves are spacious, which I liked. Highly recommended for solo diners! I grabbed a spot here myself. And next to it there's a place to put your bag, which was convenient — nice touch 👍

Which broths can you choose at Nahonsha?

Clear broth shabu, spicy broth shabu, miso shabu, tomato broth shabu, mala broth shabu. Nahonsha has a wide variety of broth types like this. It's a shabu-shabu place, but thanks to the tomato and mala broths, you can also eat it hot-pot style! You order at the table and can pay right away.

What comes with the clear broth shabu-shabu

It came out pretty quickly after ordering. The basic set is made up of broth + vegetables + noodles + meat. It's nice that noodles are included in the set!

A clean setup. I ordered the clear broth shabu. Nahonsha's clean broth is made with kelp, bonito flakes, and chicken stock. I also added fish balls and self-serve porridge on top.

The vegetables were mushrooms, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, dumplings, bok choy, carrots, tofu balls, fried tofu, and sweet pumpkin. The vegetables looked great~ I love sweet pumpkin in shabu-shabu!! So I was happy it was included ☺️

The portion of meat was pretty generous. Meat matters a lot in shabu-shabu, and it was thin and tender~

Three dipping sauces and a phone stand at every seat

The table comes set up with these sauces. There are three: peanut, ponzu, and chili. The peanut sauce here is delicious!! It has a bit of a sesame sauce feel and is nutty haha.

And there was also a phone stand like this for solo diners. I like watching videos while eating alone, so I think this will be super useful for solo diners!

With solo shabu, you get to boil it at your own pace like this, which is nice. Dipping well-cooked meat and vegetables into the sauce is just too good~ haha.

On rainy days or when it gets a bit chilly, I find myself craving shabu-shabu without even realizing it haha. The fish balls I added actually turned out to be included as a default too. But since they were tasty, I'm glad I added extra! Though 3 pieces is a bit small ㅠ
