Weekend Nowon restaurant alert! I went to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch, a sushi buffet in Nowon 🌀 I hadn't been to the Nowon location in a while, and the quality has gotten so much better than before — tons of families were there too‼️ It's a real Nowon family-gathering restaurant. Let me walk you through my visit, the reservation and waiting situation, and what's changed since last time!

Does booking mean no waiting?

If you book through Naver Reservations, you can walk in at your chosen time with no waiting! I really recommend booking ahead through Naver. We came on a Sunday at 11am, and there were already so many people who had reserved before opening. If we hadn't booked, I'm pretty sure we would have waited...

Elementary school and preschool kids get a discount off the adult price, so I'd recommend this as a Nowon spot for family gatherings.

The 300-pyeong space and group bookings

Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch has floor-to-ceiling windows, giving it a bright, open feel. It's especially well-managed at over 300 pyeong, and since you can book private spaces for 50, 80, or up to 300 people, I think it's the number one spot in Nowon for all kinds of gatherings — family meals, friend hangouts, office dinners. If you need a space for a big group — group rooms, birthday parties, wedding receptions, first-birthday parties — Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch seems like a perfect fit.

Unlimited draft beer event

And you can enjoy unlimited draft beer. They're running an event where you get unlimited draft beer for writing a Naver review — the draft beer at Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch is Terra and Kelly!

Sushi corner — halibut, salmon, tuna

Now for the main event — the Nowon buffet restaurant! I dug into Kuu Kuu properly. There's really such a wide variety of sushi and rolls, and my favorite is fresh-fish sushi...<3 Among those, I love halibut sushi, salmon sushi, and tuna sushi the most.

Can you see the look of this Nowon family-gathering restaurant's halibut sushi and salmon sushi..? The fish pieces are bigger than before!! Upgraded to fill your mouth with halibut and salmon.

It's not just the halibut and salmon sushi that got upgraded — the shrimp sushi too! They now use mudan (peony) shrimp, which they say gives it a much better flavor.

Raw salmon sashimi, only at the Nowon branch

And they've launched raw salmon sashimi! This raw salmon sashimi is a menu item exclusive to the Nowon branch — not even available at the Kuu Kuu Gold branch. It's Norwegian raw salmon, and you can find it during weekday dinner and weekends/holidays! Beyond the raw salmon sashimi, there's mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), soy-marinated crab, and more — the best Nowon restaurant for seafood lovers 🧡

Smoked duck and lamb chops

After sushi, what I love most at Kuu Kuu is the meat section — smoked duck with the fat rendered out for a chewy texture, and lamb chops packed with that distinct flavor! Kuu Kuu Nowon really is a great Nowon restaurant... The smoked duck was so good I lost track of how much I ate.

Unlimited Dippin' Dots-style ice cream, even at lunch

And the best part is this: unlimited scoop ice cream. One perk of being an adult: eating as much scoop ice cream as you want. It used to only be available at weekday dinner and weekends, but now you can enjoy unlimited scoop ice cream at lunch too~~ It's a favorite not just with kids but adults too, making it perfect for a Nowon family gathering!

Pizza, Chinese dishes, and uljin crab cream pasta

On top of everything unique to Kuu Kuu Nowon Branch mentioned above, the other food categories are hugely varied and tasty too. It was a happy day of eating my fill of seafood without any restraint ㅠㅠㅠ

From various pizzas and Chinese dishes like guobaorou (sweet and sour pork), chili shrimp, and cream shrimp,

to cream pasta made with Uljin snow crab and mala shrimp, you can basically say there's something here for every palate, from kids to adults.

Dessert and fruit

From the chocolate fountain — a buffet must-have — to a wide range of cakes! It's a dessert kingdom where you can even get freshly made waffles.

I always finish with fruit as my palate cleanser, and this was the first buffet I've been to with such a wide variety of fruit. All of it was fresh, sweet, and honestly just great...

I strongly recommend it as a Nowon buffet restaurant, a Nowon family-gathering restaurant, and a group-gathering venue ~,~
