Hannam-dong sandwich takeout with ciabatta: Dance Dance Dance

In short

Dance Dance Dance Hannam is a sandwich shop in Yongsan, Seoul, near Hannam Five-way Intersection. I ordered a baguette sandwich switched to ciabatta and a ham-and-egg sandwich for takeout, and loved the chewy bread and fresh fillings. If you cannot eat it right away, the ciabatta switch is a great choice.

Sandwich takeout from Dance Dance Dance in Hannam-dong

I recently visited Dance Dance Dance Hannam (댄스댄스댄스 한남점), a sandwich spot that has become well known in Hannam-dong. I had been curious because it is so famous for sandwiches made with wholesome ingredients, and this time I got mine to go. I especially liked that the baguette sandwich can be switched to ciabatta, so you can order it to suit your preference.

Location and atmosphere near Hannam Five-way Intersection

Dance Dance Dance Hannam is on the main road at 67 Dokseodang-ro in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with last orders at 7:30 p.m.

It is right at the start of the road leading up to the main street at Hannam Five-way Intersection. There is also a bus stop nearby, so it was easy to find.

Located in a Hannam-dong alley, Dance Dance Dance caught my eye even while passing by thanks to its atmospheric exterior. It is a famous Hannam-dong sandwich spot—well known enough that anyone who enjoys brunch or sandwiches has probably heard of it at least once.

The interior is on the small side, but it was neat and stylish. Since it has an open kitchen, I could watch the sandwiches being made, and everything felt well maintained. There were lots of takeaway customers, along with quite a few people sitting down for a quick bite.

They also had a Dance Dance Dance house cold brew. I did not get to try it, but afterward I thought I should have! I liked the cute, cozy atmosphere too.

Sandwiches made with wholesome ingredients

Dance Dance Dance is said to be known for its tasty bread and wholesome ingredients. One popular item is its tofu cream cheese, made with unrefined raw sugar, Korean tofu, and cream cheese. The shop also uses handmade ham from the premium charcuterie brand Charvetier, so it clearly pays attention to ingredient quality.

I also looked over the paper menu.

There was Dance Dance Dance merchandise too. The T-shirts were cute.

They were baking baguettes and ciabatta in real time as well. I had assumed the bread was brought in from somewhere, so I had no idea they made each one by hand like this.

Should you switch the baguette sandwich to ciabatta?

The baguette sandwich normally comes on a baguette. Since I was told it could become hard if left for a while, I switched mine to ciabatta. It came with a tangy-sweet house sauce based on whole-grain mustard, fresh vegetables, cheese, and Charvetier handmade ham, and the balance of ingredients was really good. With the ciabatta, the chewy texture stayed intact, making it much easier to enjoy after takeout.

How the ham-and-egg sandwich tasted

The ham-and-egg sandwich contains additive-free Charvetier meatloaf ham and egg potato. Its mild flavor made it easy to eat without feeling heavy, and it was satisfyingly filling too. Personally, I thought it would make a great breakfast or lunch replacement.

My overall take after eating it as takeout

The fillings were fresh and the bread texture was good, so I immediately understood why it is popular. In particular, switching to ciabatta felt like a really good decision. If you are not planning to eat it straight after pickup, I would recommend the ciabatta switch.
