After grilling makchang (beef or pork intestines) for our first round, we were looking for somewhere to go next and found Moss, a Korean bar in Euljiro! The atmosphere, food, and drinks were all seriously amazing, so it felt like we’d found a real gem haha.
Moss in Euljiro: location and how to get there
Moss is by Exit 11 of Euljiro 3-ga Station. You need to head into the alley; if you see this sign, you’re in the right place. It’s on the second floor here!

Even the entrance to Moss is beautiful. You immediately get that satisfying feeling that you’ve come to the right place haha.
A polished, thoughtfully designed interior

The first thing I felt upon walking in was how clean and upscale the atmosphere was. Apparently, the name means “moss,” inspired by an urban resting place!

Maybe that’s why a soft green glow runs through the lighting, and you can really feel the care put into every little detail. There are both bar and table seats, so the bar would be perfect for drinking solo or a date, while the tables are great for groups. It also has just the right atmosphere for a slightly more upscale wedding-invitation gathering haha.
Korean bar food and a wide drinks menu

Looking over the menu, there were lots of mains that gave Korean dishes a modern reinterpretation! Since we had already eaten during our first round, we ordered just one dish: seasonal sashimi ceviche for ₩26,000.

The drink selection was incredibly varied too, from traditional Korean liquor and makgeolli (rice wine) to whisky, so anyone who loves a drink will be spoiled for choice. We certainly were.
The place setting and vegetable side dishes

Such a neat setting. The water glasses were beautifully thin, and the tableware had such lovely shapes—you could tell at a glance that the materials were high quality. Haha.

And these addictive little vegetable side dishes were the real kicker. There was seasoned zucchini with a perilla-seed aroma, plus something like seasoned radish greens? Sweet-potato stems? (I should have asked.) Anyway, they were so savory and delicious that you could easily finish a bottle of soju or traditional liquor with these alone. Perfectly seasoned and nutty, they had me reaching for more before the main dish even arrived.
A sweet start: Ilwolsamju yakju, 14.2%

The first drink we ordered was a bottle of Ilwolsamju! The staff served it in a pretty glass that suited it perfectly. One sip in, it was sweet yet clean, like an aperitif, and absolutely perfect for waking up the palate! Even people who don’t drink much could enjoy this one comfortably and happily.
How was the seasonal sashimi ceviche as a second-round dish?

Then came the seasonal sashimi ceviche we ordered as our main dish! That day, it paired fresh sea bream, the seasonal fish, with sweet-and-tangy fruit.
The chewy sea bream was dressed with bright fruit flavors, making it light and clean rather than heavy—perfect for a second-round snackㅠㅠ It looked so pretty too; it was made for taking photos. Food is something you eat with your eyes as well as your mouth, after all.
Fragrant apple notes in Mungyeong Baram Oak, 40%

Caught up in the mood, the next drink we added was a bottle of 40-proof Mungyeong Baramju haha. I was a little nervous because of the high ABV, but when I tried it, a subtle apple fragrance rose up and it felt like drinking a premium whisky!

The glass service was thoughtful too: they gave us both a rocks glass and a shot glass. Taengi was frantically searching for that cute muddler online, hahaha.

Mungyeong Baram Oak had such lovely apple flavor. It suited the mood of the bar seats and was the perfect drink for ending the night cleanly!

The interior had so many signs of careful attention. I was busy taking in all the details of the space the whole time we drank. From the stylish interior and distinctive Korean bar food to the broad selection of traditional liquor, everything was perfect! I highly recommend Moss to anyone looking in Euljiro for an atmospheric second-round bar, an upscale wedding-invitation gathering, or a date spot!
