What comes to mind when you think of Dongmyo? For me personally, it's the mecca of vintage shopping.

A calmer alternative to Dongmyo vintage: Viva Trade in Euljiro

Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun Dongdaemun Branch is a vintage shop on the 5th floor of 264 Eulji-ro. Hunting for treasures at Dongmyo Market is great, but I found there's also a place where you can vintage-shop for cleaner clothes in a more pleasant environment! That's exactly the Dongdaemun Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun I visited this time — it's so comfortable it barely feels like a vintage shop, and the condition of the clothes was solid too, so if you're into Dongmyo-style vintage, it's worth checking out!

Inside the Polo zone and the Lacoste zone

Of everything I found, the item that looked best was a Polo shirt — a white shirt that was in such good condition it was hard to believe it was vintage.

The zone I was browsing was the Polo zone, which had everything from Polo's signature shirts to t-shirts and collared shirts. Right next to it was the Lacoste zone, where I could see Dongmyo-style vintage Lacoste collared tees and even dresses in a variety of colors.

Chanel, Dior, Prada and Max Mara in the luxury vintage section

I think one big advantage of Dongmyo-style vintage is being able to snag good deals, and at Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun you can even find high-end luxury vintage brands like Chanel, Dior, Prada, and Max Mara.

Not just t-shirts, dresses, and shirts, but a wide range of denim pants, cotton pants, and denim jackets were on display — so varied it was hard to believe this was a vintage shop and not a regular clothing store.

There were also ties dripping with that vintage feel — great for well-dressed folks looking to complete an outfit.

Fall sweatshirts, hoodies and knits in the Korean brand zone

Moving over to the domestic brand zone, I found plenty of items in great condition — vintage sweatshirts, hoodies, and knits, all essentials for the coming fall season.

What Viva Trade sells besides clothes: LP records to Hello Kitty

Aside from clothing, Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun also had a variety of props to check out, including vintage LP records — an appealing spot for record collectors too.

There were also Kitty-related vintage items, and unlike ordinary products, each one seemed to have its own story — for the truly rare limited editions, the story was even written out.

The limited-edition Doraemon fridge from a Japanese moving company

It wasn't written on the Kitty items, but the Doraemon fridge faintly visible in the back of one photo had a note saying it was a rare fridge given out as a limited edition by a moving company in Japan — knowing it was limited edition made me want it a little.

Besides that, there were also bowls, cups, mood lamps, and even Sailor Moon comic books,

and old film cameras, glasses frames, and digital cameras.

An iPod Touch and other finds that feel straight out of the 2000s

At Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun you can even find iPods for sale — the selection is so varied it genuinely feels like you've been transported back to the 2000s.

There was even an iPod Touch, which wasn't easy to get back in the day — remembering how revolutionary it was to have an MP3 player with a touch screen brought back so many memories.

The price is still a bit high, but considering the rarity, it's well worth paying for — if you're a collector, it might be worth a visit to hunt down the item you want!
