Why Viva Trade Dundaun Dongdaemun was the stop after duty-free shopping
First up, the knit I scored.
After the duty-free shop, it felt like a waste to just go straight home, so I dropped by a Dongmyo vintage shop instead — well, actually Viva Trade Eulji Dundaun Dongdaemun Branch 💙 This post is shamelessly centered on my own interests! I hadn't been to this Dundaun Dongdaemun branch in months, and the selection has gotten even more varied (= even more things I want to buy…) and there were more people too. Guess word's gotten around!
They say it's Seoul's biggest warehouse-style vintage shop at 200 pyeong, with over 100 new pieces coming in every day. And right now everything is 20% off — genuinely dirt cheap. The prices were already low, so I wondered if the 20% was maybe off some inflated tag price, but no — it really is 20% off the actual tagged price on everything.

This is a vintage shop that all sorts of celebrities and influencers visit — Beenzino, NewJeans, and more. The building also has an Olive Young, plus Ashley, Uniqlo, and a 500-pyeong Daiso, so it's a great Eulji-ro spot to knock out multiple errands in one trip. They also run pop-ups at Shinsegae Gangnam and The Hyundai Seoul. Best of all, full-length mirrors are placed all over the store, so you can basically eyeball the fit without heading into a fitting room haha. Last time I actually went into the fitting room and tried things on one by one, but this time I was too lazy, so I just held things up to the mirror and picked.
Vintage shopping is fun even just to look at. Back in the day, vintage clothes and vintage shops used to actually be pricier, but these days better-maintained clothes and knick-knacks are actually cheaper. And on top of that, 20% off everything right now!!
The LP record and vintage camera corner
This Dongdaemun Dundaun vintage shop has everything that's trending right now ✨️ There weren't any cameras when I came before, so my eyes lit up 🫠 Vintage cameras made domestically in Korea in the 1990s! Cameras are charming because every brand and model gives you a different-looking result. I got really into cameras about 3 years ago and bought all kinds, but I don't actually own a single one of these. Couldn't help fiddling with them again haha. Every vintage camera here is really well kept, so if you're into that, it's worth a look while you shop for clothes!
Trying knits and an angora cardigan at the full-length mirror
These are the knit and angora cardigan I browsed and agonized over 💙💙 With full-length mirrors placed all over the store, I could just hold things up and check the fit, which was great. It's a warehouse-style shop, so even when it's crowded there's still enough room — you can just step over to the nearest mirror haha.
Jade rings at 9,000 won each
Jade rings are trending right now, and these are so pretty 😲🩷 No need to go to the jade ring shops in Dongdaemun for this — ₩9,000 each here. Both sizes and styles were seriously varied. There wasn't just one ring I was tempted to buy. Sizes are random, so you just try them on until you find one that fits your finger haha. Sure enough, while I was trying rings on, the people next to me were doing the exact same thing haha. The famous spots in Dongdaemun or Jongno sell these for ₩30,000+, but since you're only going to wear it for a season anyway, I think getting the cheap one makes more sense! Haha.
The Hello Kitty goods zone rivals a dedicated Kitty shop
So many adorable Kitty items — genuinely rivals a dedicated Kitty shop. It feels like they airlifted a Kitty shop straight from Japan! Kitty fans would love this. There's some Miffy mixed in too, and this section is also 20% off. Plates and all sorts of little items, plus a giant Kitty keyring and regular keyrings — so cute. Kitty seems to be popular with grown men too, not just women haha. Looking around the store, there were surprisingly a lot of guys around.

A section packed with all kinds of vintage Polo pieces! Dundaun has everything from regular fast-fashion brands to vintage pieces from well-known brands.
