Gojan-dong taco restaurant in Ansan: birria tacos 2PCS and quesadilla
In short
The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch is a Mexican restaurant on Gwangdeokseo-ro in Danwon-gu, Ansan, Gyeonggi. On a weekday at around 5pm, the writer and her younger sister ordered Birria Tacos 2PCS for 13,600 won and a Pollo Quesadilla for 15,500 won, and the birria tacos tasted so richly of meat that her eyes widened at the first bite. The birria tacos alone are reason enough to return to The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch.

My sister and I both really love tacos, so whenever we hear about a good taco place, we tend to seek it out. This time we finally checked out The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch, which I'd been curious about as a taco spot in Gojan-dong, Ansan. Bottom line up front: after eating the birria tacos, we were both completely won over, haha. We kept saying "this is so good" the whole time — a place I'm definitely going back to.

I'd read that The Taco Booth was featured on SBS's Life Bar (a Korean food documentary show), so my expectations were already high before we even arrived. Beyond birria tacos, they have a surprisingly wide range of Mexican menu items — poke, burritos, quesadillas — so it was fun just reading the menu. We visited around 5pm on a weekday. Since break time ends at 4:30, it was perfect timing to start dinner.

Ordering birria tacos and a pollo quesadilla from the menu
Looking at the menu, there were way more options than expected — from various tacos to poke, burritos, quesadillas, and side dishes. The tacos alone came in carnitas, gambas, pollo, tonkatsu, and more, so we spent a while deciding. But if it's your first time at a taco place, you have to try the birria tacos!

We both love birria so much, and personally I think birria is like the basic, signature dish at any taco place, so we ordered it without hesitation. Since tacos are a beef dish, we figured we'd try chicken with our other order, so we also got the pollo quesadilla. When the birria tacos arrived and we took our first bite, both our eyes went wide, haha. Seriously delicious.

Birria Tacos 2PCS for 13,600 won: why the first bite won us over
I love tacos so I'm generally an easy audience, but The Taco Booth's birria tacos had me wanting to come back for more the moment I finished. From the texture of the shell to the combination of meat, cheese, and sauce inside, it was exactly my style. In particular, that rich, deep birria meat flavor really came through while still making you want to keep eating.

I wanted to just get the tacos alone to-go or delivered and eat them at home! Since it was 2PCS, we split one each, and after finishing I regretted only having one apiece, haha. Next time I want to order several different kinds of tacos from the start.

What does the 15,500-won Pollo Quesadilla taste like?
The pollo quesadilla we ordered alongside was also delicious. Since pollo means chicken, it didn't overlap with the birria tacos, so I was glad we ordered it — the cheese gave it a savory, rich flavor with a slight spicy kick that kept it from being too heavy.

If you like that distinctive quesadilla cheese flavor, this will satisfy you. The outside was grilled nicely and the inside was packed with chicken and cheese, making it easy to pick up piece by piece. Honestly, the quesadilla was good enough that on a different day I might have called this a quesadilla spot — but this time, the birria tacos were just too powerful.

Menu range and the atmosphere inside The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch
I also liked that The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch has such a wide menu selection. It's not just a taco place — with burritos, poke, quesadillas, and various sides, it seems like a great spot for a group to order one of each and share. Next time, I'm planning to try the taco set.

This time we picked the birria tacos and pollo quesadilla we were most curious about, but looking at the menu, there were so many tacos we hadn't tried yet. For a taco lover, it's the kind of menu you want to check off one by one. The restaurant atmosphere was also a bit different from a typical Mexican restaurant.

It has a casual New York vibe that suits tacos well, and it seemed like a comfortable place to visit with friends or a partner. Personally, this visit gave me plenty of reason to return to this Gojan-dong, Ansan spot for the birria tacos alone.
Worth a return trip? Our verdict on dinner for two
My sister and I both love tacos and went in with high expectations, and we came out even more satisfied than expected. The birria tacos especially are a flavor that keeps popping into my head even after eating. The quesadilla was also satisfying with its rich, slightly spicy cheese flavor, and the two dishes paired well together.

Will I go again? Absolutely, haha. Next time I want to order the taco set and try several other kinds beyond just birria.

If you're looking for a good taco spot in Ansan or want something different for dinner in Gojan-dong, I recommend The Taco Booth Ansan Gojan Branch. If you especially love birria tacos, you have to try this. Next time, I'm planning to come back focused entirely on tacos :)
