Seoul coffee shop for iced flat white with Noir beans: Lemangdoré

A Gwanghwamun café where you can sit on real Fritz Hansen furniture and enjoy dessert

On the day my sister and I promised each other a little Seoul outing, we agreed to caffeinate first and headed straight for a café ☕️ haha. This time we went to Lemangdoré near Gwanghwamun. It's a space done in collaboration with Fritz Hansen, so you can actually look at — and sit on — beautiful furniture while enjoying coffee and bakery items. A perfect little rest stop during our Seoul trip. Let me walk you through the space, the coffee, and the desserts at Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun.

Where is Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun, and its hours and parking

Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a café at 17 Mugyo-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, open daily from 08:00 to 21:00 (last order 20:30). It's a standalone white-toned building with a red heart shape as its signature accent.

It's close to City Hall, Jonggak, Gwanghwamun and Euljiro 1-ga stations, so it's easy to reach by public transit. If you're driving, there is parking beside the store, but space is limited, so nearby public parking lots are worth keeping in mind. Group visits, takeout, and delivery are all available, along with Wi-Fi and separate men's/women's restrooms.

Three floors, three different seating moods at Lemangdoré

Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun operates as a café across the entire building, from the 1st to the 3rd floor. Since the seating and atmosphere differ slightly floor by floor, it's better to take a walk around after ordering coffee rather than settling into the first seat you see.

🛍️ 1st floor — goods display and the order counter

The 1st floor has a variety of goods on display and is where you order your drinks and desserts. There are also seats where you can sit and drink your coffee, and the interior around the register in particular was so pretty it caught my eye as soon as I walked in.

💺 2nd floor — seats for one or two, plus Fritz Hansen chairs

The 2nd floor has mostly seating for one or two people, so it looked like a good spot for working alone on a laptop or quietly enjoying coffee.

And here's the point to look out for at Lemangdoré! The tables and chairs are Fritz Hansen pieces, so you can actually sit on them and try them out. If you've always liked Fritz Hansen furniture, it's fun to experience the real thing while sipping your coffee.

🌿 3rd floor — green views and sofa seats

The 3rd floor is where the Fritz Hansen furniture shines the most. With lush green views and a variety of tables, chairs, and sofas arranged around, it was fun just looking around the space.

It had such a nice mood that I wanted to take the whole table-and-sofa set home with me haha.

It's the same café, but each floor has such a different atmosphere that you can pick your seat depending on your mood or taste that day.

Choosing your beans: Noir, Blanc or Decaf

We ordered on the 1st floor. Naturally, I also took my time browsing the desserts, and with so many tempting options on display, it wasn't easy to choose just one haha.

You can choose your coffee beans from three options: Noir, Blanc, or Decaf.

• NOIR — dark chocolate, roasted almond, ripe cherry, forêt-noire
• BLANC — green apple, sweet berries, clean finish
• DECAF — roasted sweet potato, soft sweetness, gentle acidity

Iced flat white and iced Americano with Noir beans

Iced Americano / iced flat white / pistachio croissant / egg tart

We ordered an iced Americano and an iced flat white using the Noir beans. The bean flavor was deep and rich, so we enjoyed both drinks.

The iced flat white in particular had a nutty, intense flavor that paired really well with the sweet desserts. If you're visiting with a group, it might be fun to each choose a different bean and share a taste.

How do the pistachio croissant and egg tart taste?

The pistachio croissant had a crisply baked pastry exterior with the nutty, sweet flavor of pistachio layered on top. You could really taste the buttery pastry flavor too, which paired well with strong coffee. If you like pistachio, this is a great pick to enjoy alongside your coffee.

The egg tart had a crisp pastry texture along with a rich egg filling. The bread itself had good flavor too, and going back and forth between coffee and dessert, I really got to enjoy a leisurely café time haha. It was a great little rest stop during our Seoul outing, pairing a cup of coffee with dessert.

Who will enjoy Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun most?

Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun felt less like a café that's just about coffee and dessert, and more like a place where you can actually look at and sit on Fritz Hansen furniture while exploring the space — that was the fun part. And since each floor from 1F to 3F has a different mood and seating layout, there's real enjoyment in just walking around inside.

If you're looking for a spot near Gwanghwamun, City Hall, or Jonggak where you can enjoy coffee and dessert along with a stylish space, Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is worth a stop. Next time I'm out in Seoul, I plan to try some of the bakery items I couldn't get to this time haha.
