With the wedding day getting closer, I'm about to start bridal prep and there's so much to think about. I had a pre-wedding reception photo shoot back home before the ceremony, so I looked for a waxing shop near Gangnam Station to finally sort out my eyebrows, which have always bugged me.

And what I liked most that day was that the procedure moved a lot faster than I expected! But it didn't feel rushed at all — she looked at the shape of my brows first, then trimmed them while carefully matching up the asymmetric side.

When I told her my brow asymmetry was a concern, she compared both sides and shaped them to look as naturally symmetrical as possible.

What the eyebrow waxing was like

Doing it seated seemed to allow for closer checking! Even a slight difference in the brows can change your whole impression, and she paid close attention to that, which I really appreciated. Especially since one of my brows sits a bit higher, which always bothered me subtly in photos — after the lines were tidied up, it clearly looked much cleaner.

After the eyebrow waxing, the messy-looking stray hairs around my brows were cleared away and the brow line became much more defined. It's definitely a different feeling from just trimming with an eyebrow razor!

This was my first time trying a brow lift, and I liked it more than I expected! After the brow lift, the brow hairs softened and the overall texture felt neatly set.

When the brow hairs stick out in every direction, no matter how well you shape them, one side ends up poking out or pointing a different way — but with a brow lift setting the direction first, it's so much easier to match the shape afterward! Especially for people like me with brow asymmetry, I think doing a brow lift together with the waxing, rather than just waxing alone, is a great idea.

How the brows looked after the treatment

After the treatment, the area around my brows was cleaner and even the direction of the hairs was tidied up, so overall I looked much more polished. Since I don't usually draw my brows in heavily anyway, just having the brow hairs naturally set seems like it'll make my morning makeup routine easier.

I've been getting all sorts of things done while prepping for the wedding, and these small differences seem to add up to something bigger. Especially with schedules like the wedding or the reception where you take a lot of photos, having the brow lines tidied up in advance definitely puts my mind at ease.
