Team dinner round two at a Yeongdeungpo izakaya, 2F room: Nani

Today's the joy of working life 🫰 After round one with my coworkers, I went looking for a second-round spot in Yeongdeungpo and ended up at Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch.

Where is Nani Byeolgwan? A 5-minute walk from Times Square

It's 5 minutes from Times Square 🖐️ We window-shopped at Times Square after round one, then moved on to round two.

Arrived at the shop 👀 the exterior already had a cozy vibe going.

Walking inside, the vibe was insane... way better than I imagined from outside!!! The 1F bar table and table seating are so pretty, aren't they?! You really have to see this place in person.

There's group seating on the 2F, so if you're looking for a second-round group dinner spot in Yeongdeungpo, this is it!!

For reference, we came on a weekday at 8pm and got in with no wait.

We'd made a Naver reservation, and they showed us to a 2F room 🤭 I didn't expect to get seated somewhere this nice — walked in with zero expectations but my coworkers loved it so much I got a little proud of myself 🤘

It felt kind of like a mountain lodge getaway hahaha. Since it was a private room, we could talk about work stuff freely, which was great hahaha.

How ordering works at Nani Byeolgwan, and what the group ordered

You check the menu by scanning a QR code, but you actually order by pressing the bell and telling staff directly 🔔 Payment is after your meal, just so you know.

The free side dish at Nani Byeolgwan: cabbage salad

The basic side is a cabbage salad 🥗 I didn't know this, but apparently it's trending these days! I thought it might be perilla oil dressing, but it wasn't — more like an oriental-style dressing.

After eating so much at round one, I wondered if I could eat more, but the cabbage salad brought my appetite right back hahaha.

Mojito highball, 9,000 won: a mint lover's drink

We started drinking before the food even arrived~ the Saero was clean as always, and the mojito highball was genuinely delicious!!!

I really, really love mint, you know?? Mint lovers will love this taste 🌱 you barely taste the alcohol at all, it's clean and sweet, so it goes down easy hahaha.

They got the food out fast~ I was craving skewers so I picked two kinds.

Pork belly and scallion skewers, 15,000 won, dipped in mayo

First up, pork belly and scallion skewers 🍢 — this was the one I was most excited about!! I'd never heard of this dish before so I was curious what it would taste like.

Can you see how loaded it is with scallions?! When you bite in, your mouth fills with scallion, and the combo with the pork belly was so good hahaha. Plus tons of that smoky char flavor 🔥

Mayonnaise comes on the side, and dipping it in makes it even richer and softer!!

I love mayo so I dipped every single bite hahaha.

Chicken skewers, 15,000 won: thigh meat still tender once cooled

Next up, chicken skewers 🐤 — no need to say much, they were so tender!!

Even cold, they weren't tough at all — soft enough that you could keep eating endlessly hahaha. Seems like they use chicken thigh meat!! Best chicken skewers I've had recently.

Skewers cheers 🤘 honestly both were super delicious, but I'm casting my vote for the chicken skewers 🪄 They were so tender that even though everyone was already full, we were shouting at each other to try just one bite hahaha.

Is Nani Byeolgwan worth it for a second round in Yeongdeungpo?

I loved the vibe here so much I think I'll be back!! With bars, if the atmosphere is good, you just keep drinking, right ~~ 😉 If you're looking for a second-round blind date spot near Yeongdeungpo Station, or a second-round work dinner spot, I recommend Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch for the great vibe.
