I was craving Western food out of nowhere, so I went to a restaurant near Seolleung Station that's famous for its pasta.

Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch

Walking about 7 minutes from Exit 2 of Seolleung Station, you'll find the clean, tidy exterior of Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch. It's tucked further into an alley than the many bars and restaurants around Seolleung, so you can enjoy a meal in a quieter atmosphere.

Exterior of Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch lit up in the evening

Since I went in the evening, the lit-up sign was so cute and pretty.

An adorable standing sign showing off that they have a steak menu you grill yourself.

There's a waitlist registration machine and menu board out front. Turns out you can also do remote queuing through the Catch Table app when there's a wait.

Thanks to the menu board at the entrance, even spontaneous meal decisions are possible 👍

Once you open the door, there's a waiting bench right there, so you can wait comfortably if there's a line. (It's a sofa bench, so even more comfortable 😪)

Inside Kkuudeok: seating for gatherings and first dates

Inside Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch there are about 8–9 tables of 4, and private rental is available too. There were a lot of diners inside so I couldn't take detailed photos, but the vibe is super clean and modern.

The entrance has a full glass wall, which adds even more openness. Given the seating, this looks like a great option for people looking for a gathering spot near Seolleung Station.

And above all, the lighting is soft and really pretty. It's not an exaggeration to say this lighting sets the whole mood of the place. Strongly recommend this Seolleung restaurant as a blind date spot 👩❤️👨

Kkuudeok menu and the 46,800 won Kkuudeok combo set

The Kkuudeok menu is broadly divided into steak, pasta, rice, and sides, and there's a set menu too, so you can get steak plus pasta & rice at a reasonable price. Adding ₩1,000 to any pasta lets you order it as risotto instead, so you can eat a variety of dishes depending on your mood. (Everything looked so delicious that it took me forever to choose.)

and what we ordered was the ₩46,800 Kkuudeok combo set

  • Premium chuck flap steak (150g)
  • Spicy cream pasta
  • Cheese meat pasta
  • Sprite Zero x 2

(Ordering as a set is ₩1,000 cheaper than ordering everything à la carte.)

Pickle jar and tabletop brazier: the food arrives all at once

Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch brings a pickle jar to every table, which was great since you don't have to bother asking for refills.

There are seasonings here too, so you can adjust to your taste.

The table color was so pretty that my anticipation was already rising before the food even arrived.

If you write a photo review, they give you free ice cream too, so it's worth grabbing dessert as well.

At Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch, the steak is pre-seared on the kitchen grill first, then finished at your table on a mini grill, which is why they bring this little grill out.

The drinks included in the set are poured and set up nicely too. (Can be swapped for alcoholic drinks.)

One of the best things about Kkuudeok is that all the food comes out at once. That means you get a pretty photo of everything in one shot, and best of all, you're not left waiting around wondering when the next dish is coming. (Most restaurants bring things out one by one, which feels a bit frustrating.)

The full Kkuudeok combo set served all at once

Cheese meat pasta, 13,900 won, with house-made tomato sauce

This is the cheese meat pasta (₩13,900). True to its name, it's piled with cheese like a snowdrift ❄️

The bowl is big so it's hard to tell, but the portion is really generous and the tomato smells amazing.

Cheese meat pasta topped with cheese like snow

Mix the cheese in while it's hot and it turns into an insanely good-looking tomato pasta.

Tomato pasta with the cheese mixed in

Get cheese, tomato, and meat in one bite and your eyes just widen. The noodles are cooked perfectly, and since the sauce is handmade fresh every morning, the tomato's umami is insane. It was so good I thought about coming back to eat it again for lunch at work the very next day.

A forkful of cheese meat pasta lifted up

Spicy cream pasta, 12,900 won, topped with an egg yolk

This is the spicy cream pasta (₩12,900), which I ordered because it's supposedly the restaurant's signature dish. The plating is so upscale and pretty it's almost a shame to mix it up. And judging by the sauce's thickness and color, it looks delicious even before you take a bite — you can tell right away it's rich and creamy.

The chef clearly knows what they're doing — look closely and there's an egg yolk resting gently on top 🥚

There are big shrimp in it too, and combined with the thick sauce, one bite gives you an incredibly nutty, rich cream flavor. I think the egg yolk and cream come together to make the flavor even more harmonious.

And there's just enough spiciness added that you never get tired of it and keep eating 👍

Grilling the 150g premium chuck flap steak at the table

And this is the last item in the set, the premium chuck flap steak (150g). Ordered à la carte it's ₩18,000, but with the garnish and sauces included so generously, it's extremely reasonable.

Premium chuck flap steak served with 3 sauces

The 3 sauces are salt, steak sauce, and whole grain mustard sauce, and the visual of the steak already nicely seared on the grill made my heart race.

This is the house-made green onion sauce, which they said pairs well with the meat.

Melt the butter that came with it on the grill, and you're ready to cook it up nicely.

The instant you put it on the grill, the color of the cut surface looks insane.

Since it's already pre-seared, you just finish grilling it a little more to your taste. The heat is really good and you can cook it exactly to your preferred doneness, which was so satisfying.

Can you see the juices coming out? Looking at the photo, I can almost smell the meat and honestly I want to eat it again right now.

I dipped it in different sauces depending on my mood, and the meat itself must just be good quality — it wasn't tough at all, so soft that it disappeared after a few chews.

With the most basic pairing, just plain salt, you can taste the meat's flavor even better. The salt has fairly coarse grains, which adds a nice chewy texture when eaten with the meat, making it even more delicious.

Is Kkuudeok Seolleung worth it? Final verdict

Between the taste, atmosphere, price, and service, there was nothing lacking about Kkuudeok Seolleung Main Branch, this restaurant near Seolleung Station. Being able to eat steak and pasta for around ₩40,000 in the middle of Gangnam is so surprising that I want to come back whenever I'm craving Western food again.
