Gangnam Station pasta with no break time for a late lunch: Brivit
In short
Brivit Gangnam Station is a pasta and gnocchi Italian restaurant on Gangnam-daero 102-gil in Gangnam, Seoul. The order was corn gnocchi in green onion cream, salmon steak pasta and spicy fried eggplant: the gnocchi is lightly fried so it stays firm outside and chewy inside, and the eggplant never turns soggy. Brivit Gangnam Station runs daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. with no break time, so a late lunch is easy to time.

Where to eat pasta near Gangnam Station: Brivit Gangnam Station
Looking for a place to eat pasta near Gangnam Station is tricky because there are honestly too many options, which somehow makes it harder to choose. So I headed to Brivit Gangnam Station (브리비트 강남역), a pasta place near Gangnam Station that gets a lot of love.

Hours with no break time, and what the interior looks like
They're open daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9:15 p.m., straight through with no break time, so it was easy to fit in whether for a late lunch or dinner. The inside was bigger than it looked in photos. Everything's in pink tones, but it doesn't feel tacky — more calm and put together.

Table spacing was generous too, so I couldn't hear neighboring conversations. I get why people said it's a popular spot for dates or blind dates. There are window-facing seats and inner terrace seats, so you can sit wherever you prefer.

Pickles and water are self-serve. I think I went back for pickles once or twice.

Corn gnocchi in green onion cream: why frying it works
Green onion cream corn gnocchi. The moment the plate arrived I went, huh? It didn't look like the gnocchi I know — more like sliced wedge potatoes. The corn was lightly charred on the surface, and it looked delicious just from that.
It seemed like the gnocchi had been lightly fried, and that turned out to be a masterstroke. Gnocchi is usually not very chewy, but this one had a firm outside and chewy inside, which felt tailored to Korean tastes. Honestly, this was better than regular gnocchi.

And there's a big chunk of bacon hiding inside. The overall flavor is mild, and then this salty kick comes in. Eating one piece of gnocchi with a piece of bacon together was the best combination.

The cream sauce isn't a simple cream either. It tastes like they blended in something like potato or corn. On top of that, ingredients like olives and bacon are mixed throughout the sauce, so it kept getting better the more I ate.

Salmon steak pasta, built on a ragu base
Salmon steak pasta. It's a tomato pasta, but being ragu-based, it's definitely more flavorful. It's not heavy though — the ragu is more on the fresh, bright side. There's a lot of vegetables in it too.
The salmon sits whole on top. It was cooked well, not tough, and had zero fishy smell. I've seen salmon on pasta before, but never served like a steak on top like this. There's also something like sour cream on top of the salmon. It seemed meant to be eaten with the salmon, so I scooped both together — smooth and delicious.

In short, a familiar flavor cooked really well. Good call ordering it with the cream gnocchi. Going from the savory cream to the spicy tomato, I never got tired of it until the end.

Spicy fried eggplant that stays crisp to the last bite
Spicy fried eggplant. The visual on this fried eggplant is insane.
Appealing enough even if you're not a fried-food lover. The portion was generous too.
This was my first time trying a spicy-style fried eggplant and I had high expectations — it was completely crispy. It comes out fresh from the fryer, so watch out for burns.

But the eggplant itself wasn't that spicy — the sauce was. Good balance for something fried that could otherwise feel greasy.

It stayed remarkably crispy all the way to the last bite, never going soggy, so anyone who likes both fried food and eggplant should definitely go. I cleaned the plate ^^

Is Brivit Gangnam Station worth a late lunch?
For a place right in the middle of Gangnam Station, the portions and quality were reasonable for the price. If you're stuck deciding where to eat pasta near Gangnam Station, I'd recommend Brivit Gangnam Station. Places that make handmade gnocchi aren't common, and I get why the salmon steak pasta is a signature menu item. Make sure to order the fried eggplant alongside it.
