Before summer fully ended, I went swimming at Haeundae Beach 🌊 and wanted a cold beer with dinner afterward, so I headed to Bueokgan Chinese, a Chinese restaurant near Haeundae. Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch beautifully and stylishly remodeled the old Sansu Bathhouse building ✨ It's nothing like the typical Chinese restaurant you'd picture in Haeundae — the atmosphere really felt like stepping into a restaurant abroad :)

Stepping into the store, the atmosphere gets even more impressive 🧡 From the lighting down to every small prop, you could feel how much care went into the interior.

Thanks to the soft lighting and stylish furniture, it felt less like a Chinese restaurant and more like a cozy café or an upscale dining space 🏮

At about 50 pyeong, the space is spacious and comfortable, with a calm atmosphere — making it a great Chinese restaurant in Haeundae for family meals, gatherings, or a Haeundae date :)

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is based on authentic Chinese cooking but shows off its own distinctive range of dishes 🥢 From the signature soft-boiled egg five-layer pork ganjjajang to beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and black vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), there are also special dishes like mala cilantro jjamppong and jalapeño cream shrimp! I heard it's also famous as a go-to spot in Haeundae for jjamppong thanks to its deep, spicy broth :)

By the way, if there's a wait, the seating time limit is 2 hours!

The basic side dishes are pickled radish and cha xia :) Perfect for snacking between bites of the main dishes!

After ordering, we started with a cold beer first 🍻 After playing hard at the beach, I was tired, but one sip of beer washed all the thirst away!! 🤩

To go with the beer, we ordered spicy gochu ganjjajang and whole-garlic yuringi 💛 Coming out freshly cooked, hot with a faint smoky aroma, it made us even hungrier .. 🤤

The spiciness perfectly cuts through what could otherwise be a heavy, greasy jjajang flavor, and the way the sauce clings to the noodles was so good 😋 It was good enough that I'd order it again next time — a real go-to spot for jjajangmyeon in Haeundae!

Whole-garlic yuringi

A perfect match for beer, the whole-garlic yuringi 🧄 It's fried right after ordering, so the crispiness of the batter really came through.

The tangy, salty special sauce, the sharp bite of whole garlic, and the crispy-outside, juicy-inside chicken texture all came together in a flavor I kept reaching for without getting tired of it!!

The quality was on a whole different level from typical Chinese food, and I finished dinner impressed and satisfied :)

Adding rice for the leftover jjajang sauce

Halfway through the spicy gochu ganjjajang, it felt like too much of a waste to leave the rich, spicy, savory sauce behind, so I ordered extra rice and mixed it in thoroughly 😋

The jjajangmyeon was already delicious, but mixing in rice made it taste like heaven...❤️ The smoky, spicy sauce is the real kick, so I'd definitely recommend adding rice and mixing it in!
