Baegya Coffee is an ocean-view café in Gangneung where you can take in the sea at Sacheonjin Beach in one glance. It's a large bakery café with 4 floors of space plus a rooftop. From the corn cream shot latte to its variety of baked goods, here's my full visit.
Finding Baegya Coffee on a trip to see the Gangneung sea

When you travel to Gangneung, good food matters, but so does finding somewhere to rest in between, haha. This time I was wandering around near Sacheonjin Beach looking for a café with a sea view, and even from a distance this place looked pretty big — that's how Baegya Coffee caught my eye!
Cutting to the conclusion: it was an ocean-view café in Gangneung where you could enjoy the sea view, spacious rooms, and bakery items all at once, haha. Gangneung has so many pretty cafés, but as a traveler I care about easy parking, plenty of seats, and above all a proper sea view. On that front, Baegya Coffee was a nice Gangneung café to unwind at.
Where is Baegya Coffee? Right by Sacheonjin Beach with full sea views
Baegya Coffee sits in a location I'd recommend to anyone looking for a Sacheonjin Beach café. Even before stepping inside, I could feel that breezy, seaside-specific atmosphere. Once inside, the blue sea and sky spreading out beyond the huge windows genuinely surprised me, haha.
Coming all the way to Gangneung, you really need a view like this to feel like you're on a trip. Especially on a nice day, sitting by the window with a coffee and looking out at the sea would be perfect.
Personally, when I go to a café I like to sit for a while rather than just drink and leave, and Baegya Coffee's spaciousness meant it never felt cramped. So it's good for a quick break mid-trip, and also good for sitting and chatting with friends or family — a relaxed ocean-view café in Gangneung.
Inside the four-floor bakery café: what each floor looks like

Baegya Coffee turned out much bigger than I expected! It's a 4-floor building, so there was fun in exploring each level, haha. Seating was generous too, so even with some crowds, it was fairly easy to find a relaxed spot.
The interior mixed a concrete feel with warm wood tones nicely. Add in a variety of plants, and the overall mood was clean but comfortable. Some large cafés these days are big just for the sake of it, but here each space had a slightly different vibe, which made it fun to explore. And my favorite part was definitely the upper floors!

On the 4th floor there's a rooftop space where you can drink your coffee outdoors, giving an even more open view of the sea. Looking at the sea from that wide-open space, my head cleared up too, haha. If you're looking for a Gyeongpodae café or a large café near the beach, this is worth a stop.
The bakery counter: what bread Baegya Coffee bakes

On a trip, it's nice when a café isn't just about good coffee but also has a good range of bread and desserts! Living up to its reputation as a large Gangneung bakery, Baegya Coffee had a wide bakery lineup ready too. Looking at the pastries on display, there were so many good options to pair with coffee that I had trouble deciding, haha.
If you like bakery items, I'd recommend picking a bread to go with your drink rather than just ordering a beverage. I also heard oksigi ice cream is one of the popular items here — soft-serve with corn powder and a crunchy texture added, apparently. I really wanted to try it on my next visit!
Traveling around Gangneung, you end up eating a lot of seafood and full meals, so when you crave something sweet with coffee in between, resting at a café like this is genuinely great.
What we ordered: corn cream shot latte and chocolate mousse cake

This time, here's what I ordered!
- Corn cream shot latte ₩6,800
- Americano ₩5,500
- Chocolate mousse cake
The menu item I was most curious about first was the corn cream shot latte — the name alone made it sound different from a regular latte, haha. Since I was at a Gangneung café, I wanted to try something a bit different from what I usually order.
I also ordered an americano to go with the sweet dessert, and adding the chocolate mousse cake made this sea-view break feel complete. If you like chocolate desserts, this would pair really well with coffee.
Drinking coffee while looking out at Sacheonjin Beach through the window, I lost track of time, lol. Sometimes on a trip, sitting at a café with no particular plan and just taking in the scenery ends up being the most memorable part.
Parking at Baegya Coffee: wide and easy for drivers

When looking for a café while traveling, parking quietly matters a lot. Especially in Gangneung, where many people travel by car, a tight parking lot makes you hesitate before visiting. Baegya Coffee had plenty of parking space, so it was easy to drop by. Given the size of the café, not having to worry about parking was a real plus.
The interior facilities were also kept clean, so it was comfortable to spend time there. It's good for family visits, good for stopping by with friends on a Gangneung trip, and the atmosphere works well for couples on a date looking at the sea. Especially on a nice day up on the rooftop, I understood exactly why so many people look for ocean-view cafés in Gangneung, haha.
Is Baegya Coffee worth a stop in Gangneung?
Baegya Coffee, which I visited on this Gangneung trip, felt less like just a place to drink coffee and more like a place to pause and look at the sea. A spacious 4-floor building, a rooftop, and an ocean view of Sacheonjin Beach — all in one!
On top of that, there's a wide range of drinks and bakery items to suit different tastes, and I had fun picking something a bit different, like the corn cream shot latte, haha.
If you're planning a Gangneung trip, I'd recommend saving at least one spot near the beach to rest at in advance. If you're looking for a Sacheonjin Beach café, a large Gangneung bakery, a Gyeongpodae café, or simply a Gangneung café with a great sea view, add Baegya Coffee to your list!
Next time I'm back in Gangneung, I want to spend more time on the rooftop on a nice day, looking out at the sea, haha. This is a place I'd recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy the Gangneung sea with a relaxed cup of coffee!
