Rolly Polly Yeongjong Sky City, the candy shop that stops kids in their tracks

A riot of color that's hard to just walk past. This is Rolly Polly Yeongjong Sky City.

One downside — I was told there's no dedicated parking. We rode the rail bike at Seaside Park, grabbed a quick bite at Father's Bagel (seriously delicious... though parking there was a whole thing haha), and then headed to Rolly Polly Yeongjong Sky City to hunt down some snack-time jelly. Pretty much the perfect course haha 😍

Rolly Polly isn't the kind of place where you grab one or two jellies and leave — the browsing itself is half the fun. Colorful jellies, candy, and snacks and slime that kids (and adults) love fill up the whole store.

It's not just jelly — there's candy and chocolate too, plus slime, so honestly it's basically an ant trap for kids. You can also spot cute plush toys and packaging (boxes) in the photos — I think it'd be great to stop by for White Day or Valentine's Day gifts and pack something pretty.

How much is the jelly at Rolly Polly? 45 won per gram, pick your own

Rolly Polly's jelly is priced at 45 won per gram. You choose whatever kind you want, in whatever amount you want, and fill your own bag. Hand it over to your kid to fill and it's suddenly overflowing before you know it.

Pick one chewy piece, one sour piece, whatever suits your taste, and before long the bag gets pretty heavy. Individually wrapped candies always end up precariously balanced in a kid's two hands. I really love how these lollipops look 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ hard for a kid to walk out without buying one, probably...

There's something fun about wondering "what flavor is this one?" as you fill your bag one piece at a time — the picking process itself feels like a game. We stopped in for a quick look and 20 minutes had already flown by ☺️

Gift bottles, boxes and sprinkles at Rolly Polly

Rolly Polly Yeongjong Sky City also has a variety of bottles and gift boxes to fill with jelly or candy. Just scooping into a bag is fine, but if you want a prettier package, picking out a box or a cute bottle and filling it yourself is part of Rolly Polly's charm 😍

Aren't these colorful candies so pretty haha 🤭 There's pre-portioned candy and jelly too, so it's easy to buy exactly what you need.

There were quite a lot of plush toys around, which amped up the cute, cozy feel of the interior.

How much slime does Rolly Polly stock?

A slime-filled interior — how am I not supposed to buy that? We'd just been at a slime café the other day, and I still ended up buying one more tub! It wasn't really priced too high either.

There are quite a few types of slime too. Just when you think you've finished with the jelly section, you'll find your little prince or princess already browsing the slime shelves 🫣 The space isn't huge, but it's decorated in a cozy, adorable way that makes you wish it were your own room. I heard it opened not that long ago, which might explain why it felt so clean and fresh.

The imported drinks fridge and a first taste of ramune

One whole wall is a drinks fridge, and the imported drinks you don't usually see at the supermarket or convenience store really catch your eye. I'd been wanting to try ramune, and Rolly Polly was where I finally had my first one.

Filling one of these up with jelly or candy is basically the ultimate flex a kid can pull off haha, right?

Sprinkles for decorating bottles or boxes? You could buy these in small portions too.

There were rings and craft parts too... it suddenly occurred to me these are probably meant to be played with alongside the parts or sparkly slime.
