I visited Boksakkot Pineun Jip Incheon Branch with my mom and my 5-year-old son. Whenever kids and adults eat together, you end up scanning everything from the spice level to what's actually edible for a little one.

This place serves jjukkumi (spicy stir-fried octopus), pasta, and stone-oven pizza, plus rice balls and seaweed soup, making it a solid pick for a three-generation family meal.

We ordered the signature jjuchipa set for two, and chose gorgonzola for the stone-oven pizza.

Walking inside, the space was much bigger than I expected.

There are over 160 seats total, plus separate group seating for 20, 50, and 80 people. From cozy family tables to larger spaces for groups, it looked like a good spot for gatherings or work dinners too.

Besides spicy dishes like jjukkumi, there's also pork cutlet, fried shrimp, and kids' spaghetti for children. I was curious whether the menu would work for both my mom and my 5-year-old, but having separate kid-friendly food made the meal easier than expected.

The jjuchipa set we ordered is the signature combo featuring spicy octopus, pasta noodles, and mozzarella cheese, alongside stone-oven pizza, salad, mukguk (jelly noodle salad), and rice balls. Pasta noodles and mozzarella cheese sit right on top of the main octopus dish, so it looks completely different from a typical jjukkumi stir-fry.

Mixing the pasta noodles well into the octopus sauce and adding cheese gives you a spicy yet savory flavor. The cheese softens the octopus's heat so it doesn't come across as one-note spicy. Eating the chewy octopus together with the pasta noodles felt like enjoying Korean and Western food at once — a fun, unusual combo.

You can choose between gorgonzola and seasonal pizza for the stone-oven pizza. We went with gorgonzola, thinking it would pair well with the spicy octopus.

Eating a slice of gorgonzola between bites of octopus, the contrast between spicy and sweet-savory worked really well. The pizza wasn't just a side dish — it acted as a palate cleanser between the spicy bites.

It was also something my 5-year-old could eat, which was handy. The set also came with cool mukguk and salad, so we could rotate between spicy, tangy, and savory flavors throughout the meal.

Rice balls shaped at the table, plus seaweed soup for the kids

The rice balls are made right at the table — you put on food-safe gloves and shape them yourself. I rolled them into small, round bites for my son, and he ate them without any fuss. For a kid who couldn't handle the spicy octopus, the rice balls and seaweed soup meant we didn't even need to order a separate kids' menu to make sure he had a proper meal.

Making them yourself is fun too, so if you're visiting with a kid, giving the rice-ball-making a try is worth it.

Warm seaweed soup is also included, and it gave the whole family meal a thoughtful, well-rounded feel for both adults and kids.

You can grab just the side dishes you want, as much as you want, without needing to call a staff member — a convenient setup for the meal.

There's also a soda dispenser, so you can drink as much as you like throughout the meal.

Eating spicy octopus makes you crave a cold drink often, so being able to drink as much as you want was a great match.

After the meal, there's also free brewed coffee. There's an outdoor terrace too, which looked like a nice spot to relax with coffee on a good-weather day.

Why Boksakkot Pineun Jip suits kids and grandparents

Visiting with my mom and my 5-year-old son, I especially liked how well the menu worked across generations.

The adults could enjoy the spicy octopus and pasta, while my son could have the gorgonzola pizza, rice balls, and seaweed soup. Side dishes are freely refillable at the self-serve bar, and unlimited soda meant we never ran short during the meal. With a spacious restaurant, group seating, and free parking, this was a great jjukkumi restaurant in Guwol-dong for bringing parents or kids along.
