In short
Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch is a beef barbecue restaurant beside the Chimsan 2-dong Community Service Center in Buk-gu, Daegu. I visited Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch (고기9단 침산직영점) in Buk-gu, Daegu with my family for beef. Along with kkotgalbisal, I tried the accompanying dishes and looked at the facilities needed for a family meal, including the parking lot and playroom.

Where is Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch, and is parking convenient?
The restaurant is at 197 Chimsannam-ro, Buk-gu, Daegu, right beside the Chimsan 2-dong Community Service Center, so it was not difficult to find even on a first visit.

There was a spacious dedicated parking lot on the building’s first floor, which made it convenient to drive there. At the time of the original visit, I was told that the nearby National Health Insurance Service public parking lot was also available after 6 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends.

What are the seating and facilities like for children and parents?
Once inside, the restaurant felt more spacious and comfortable than I expected. Partitions between the tables gave the dining area a sense of separation from neighboring seats.

There was plenty of seating, so I thought it would also suit group gatherings or company dinners. When I visited, many families were dining with their parents. There was a separate playroom farther inside, along with high chairs.

Which beef dishes did we order?
There were several cuts, including fresh galbi, anchangsal (outside skirt steak), kkotgalbisal (marbled rib meat), and hwangje galbisal (emperor rib meat). We ordered a 500g platter of kkotgalbisal and the 9dan set to have alongside it.

We ordered from the tablet on the table while looking at menu photos. The screen also listed service benefits.
What side dishes come with the meal?
After ordering the beef, the table was set with japchae, cabbage water kimchi, pickled onions, salad, soy-marinated raw crab, and green onion kimchi. They were good to nibble on one by one while the meat cooked.

I especially kept reaching for the soy-marinated raw crab because its seasoning suited my taste and it had a savory depth. The green onion kimchi, which seemed freshly seasoned, freshened my palate between bites of rich beef.

How much kkotgalbisal was there, and what was its texture like?
The kkotgalbisal platter was 500g, which felt generous for sharing with my family. Once the grill heated up and we put the meat on, it gave off a savory aroma.

After lightly grilling both sides, it was tender to chew along the grain, while the inside remained moist with juices.

It had enough of the savory richness that comes from marbling, but the finish was not overly heavy, so it was easy to eat several pieces.

Eating it plain let the flavor of the beef come through clearly. A little green onion kimchi or fresh wasabi made the flavor more distinct.

How did we eat the 9dan set with the beef?
The dishes in the 9dan set came out one by one while we ate the beef. We had yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), rice for sushi, and fresh pork kimchi jjigae with the meat.

The yukhoe was lightly seasoned, making its soft texture and savory flavor easy to enjoy.

I also made beef sushi by placing a little fresh wasabi on the sushi rice and topping it with a piece of well-grilled meat.

At the end, we cooked the fresh pork kimchi jjigae. Its spicy, refreshing broth made for a satisfying finish, and we did not need to order an additional meal dish. After eating, we could also have a cool coffee.
Why would I return for another family meal?
The tender kkotgalbisal, varied side dishes, and 9dan set made for a substantial meal. With dedicated parking, partitioned seating, a playroom, and high chairs, I felt it would be comfortable to dine here with children or parents.
