Suwon cake takeout café: 3 slices and a free candle at Diaz Cake

Today I visited a cozy, pretty dessert café called Diaz Cake Boutique, on the 2nd floor of a building at the start of Nahyeoseok-geori in Ingye-dong, Suwon, right across from Dongsuwon CGV. I'd always been curious about it while passing by, and this time I happened to be craving cake, so I stopped in.

Finding Diaz Cake Boutique: second floor near Suwon City Hall Station

Get off the elevator on the 2nd floor and the entrance of Diaz Cake Boutique appears right there. It looks pretty luxurious even from the outside.

The banner right at the entrance where you step off the 2nd-floor elevator explains their premium cakes made with 100% dairy whipped cream and top-grade fresh fruit, plus their scoop-style cakes.

These are the whole cakes. Since they seem to make them fresh on demand, you can see some cakes that are still just lightly shaped up top, alongside finished ones.

Diaz Cake Boutique menu: afternoon tea sets and handmade cakes

The menu board offers set menus like the financier tea set, perfect for enjoying alongside tea as a proper afternoon tea. There's also a range of blended teas, financiers on their own, coffee, ades, and parfaits to choose from depending on your mood. In particular, the premium handmade cakes made with 100% dairy whipped cream and fresh seasonal fruit can be reserved ahead or bought straight from the showcase.

What the café looks like inside, and the seating

The tables are spaced generously, and the window-side seats looked comfortable for enjoying a relaxed cup of tea. The interior is so pretty. I came for takeout, but honestly I wanted to sit and enjoy it in the café itself. Next time I'm definitely coming back to dine in!

Packing three cake slices to go, plus a candle on request

On top of the showcase toward the back of the store, there were pretty candles in various shapes along with cute little party decorations on display. We picked three cake slices to take home. They packed up the blueberry cake, fig cake, and peach cake in a pretty box for us. When we asked for a candle, they gave us one too.

This cake has layers upon layers of figs, which are in season right now. The soft, faintly grainy texture and gentle sweetness of the figs blended so well with the cream that it wasn't overpowering at all — just a comfortable, easy flavor.

Blueberry cake at Diaz Cake Boutique

There's a ton of blueberries packed between the layers and on top. Maybe because it uses 100% dairy whipped cream, the cream wasn't heavy at all and was really smooth, pairing nicely with the tart blueberries. It wasn't overly sweet either, so it was easy to eat without feeling guilty.

Peach cake at Diaz Cake Boutique

It's packed with sweet, fragrant peaches, so every bite had juice bursting through. The peach pieces on top were pretty big too. The soft cake and cream combined with the crisp yet tender texture of the fruit made it hard to stop reaching for another bite.

Is Diaz Cake Boutique worth it for cake takeout?

Maybe because it's made with good ingredients, my stomach felt totally comfortable even after eating the dessert, and all the fruit was fresh, which was really satisfying. If you're looking for tasty handmade cakes or a quiet dessert café to chat in around Ingye-dong, this place seems worth a visit. Next time, I'd love to sit in the café itself and take my time enjoying the afternoon tea set.
