Paldal-gu, Suwon casual dining with post-meal mouthwash: Hado
In short
Hado is a casual dining restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro in Paldal-gu, Suwon, in the Haenggung-dong area, serving a course menu that changes with the season. A couple ordered the basic course for two at 90,000 won and worked through a green pea tart, minari yuzu bisque pasta, sous vide chicken breast steak and Earl Grey ice cream, choosing a Charlie Puth CD on the tableside CD player and listening through earphones. The small touches, right down to mouthwash offered after the meal, made Hado a dinner worth remembering.

Today I want to introduce Hado, a restaurant rumored to be one of the best date spots in Suwon. It's a casual dining restaurant on Hyanggyo-ro, known for its seasonal course menu and stylish interior. From the sous vide chicken breast steak to the minari (water dropwort) yuzu bisque pasta, the thoughtfulness of the course really stood out. If you're looking for a Suwon date restaurant, keep reading!
Where is Hado, and where do you park? 138 Hyanggyo-ro, one hour free next door
Hado is on the 1st floor of 138 Hyanggyo-ro, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi. It's open Tue–Sun 11:00–21:30 (break time 14:20–16:00), and Mondays are dinner-only, 16:00–21:30.

Walking along Hyanggyo-ro, a building with a deep navy exterior and a wooden door catches your eye. The handwritten HADO logo glowing under the sign lighting already hints at the sentimental mood inside. There's no dedicated lot, but the public parking lot right next door gives you the first hour free, so it wasn't much of an inconvenience.
What is Hado like inside? Low lighting and an open kitchen

Step through the door and deep gray walls with low-hanging pendant lights create a soft, muted atmosphere.

Being able to watch the chef cook in the open kitchen gave me a real sense of trust. Every table already had the course menu set out, along with napkin rings and cutlery arranged with real care — you could feel the attention to detail. Being a well-known Suwon date restaurant, there were plenty of couples around us on dates too.

Choosing a Charlie Puth CD on Hado's tableside CD player
What was fun was the CD player at every table, plus a turntable and CD collection tucked in one corner of the restaurant. You could grab whichever CD you wanted and pick up the earphones provided, letting you eat while listening to music together — a really unique touch.

So we picked out a Charlie Puth CD to listen to, and something about the noise of the CD player spinning and the corded earphones — all that analog stuff — gave off such a nostalgic, old-school feeling that it put us in a weirdly great mood haha. I think this is exactly the kind of delicate touch that makes Hado one of the top Suwon date restaurants.
What comes in Hado's basic course for two at 90,000 won?

The menu board at the entrance laid out the course structure: starter, main, protein, dessert. We ordered the basic course, which includes the sous vide chicken breast steak. Hado's basic course is ₩90,000 for two.
Starters: green pea tart and sweet shrimp apple tart

The first thing to arrive was two kinds of tart! We were told to try the green pea tart first, so we did. It was light yet kept the natural flavor of the green peas front and center. The sweet shrimp apple tart brought together the shrimp's richness, the apple's brightness, and the smoothness of potato purée, with a touch of onion aroma rounding it out.
Main: minari yuzu bisque pasta at Hado

Even the noodles themselves carried a subtle shrimp aroma. We were told not to mix in all the minari pesto at once, but to add it gradually to taste, so that's what we did!
The minari pesto had yuzu mixed in, giving it a bright, sweet-tart appeal, and the shrimp on top had a chewy texture with a smoky char that added depth of flavor. The minari pieces scattered throughout added both texture and a fragrant lift.
Protein: sous vide chicken breast steak

The chicken breast sitting on carrot purée was impressively tender thanks to the sous vide cooking. The carrot purée itself had a subtle carrot aroma, smooth and sweet, and the crispy quinoa sprinkled on top kept things from getting monotonous, so I enjoyed it to the very last bite.
Dessert: Earl Grey ice cream

The course wrapped up with Earl Grey ice cream! The gentle Earl Grey aroma and the sweetness of the caramel balanced beautifully, giving the meal a clean finish.

After the meal, I was moved all over again by the thoughtful touch of them handing out mouthwash. Definitely lived up to its reputation as a Suwon date restaurant 🥰

Final verdict on dinner at Hado
Hado was a place that clearly cared not just about the quality of the food, but also about the space itself — the open kitchen, the CD players, all of it. You could feel the care put into each course, and it struck me as a great Suwon date restaurant for a special occasion. Thanks to Hado, my husband and I had a wonderful date in Haenggung-dong 🥰 I hope you get to have a comfortable, memorable experience here with someone special too.
