While looking around Sokcho Central Market, I got red snow crab to go from Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market Large Parking Lot. The shop was beside the stairs, so it was easy to find. The tanks looked clean, and they held king crab and shellfish.

What did I order in the red snow crab lunchbox?

When I visited, there were only red snow crab lunchboxes. They came with either two or three crabs, and I chose two crabs with two portions of ge-ttakji bokkeumbap (fried rice served in crab shells).

I wanted an easy meal instead of making fried rice at home, so I asked the shop to prepare it. The owner stir-fried it right then.

They filled the crab shells generously with rice. Each crab shell holding fried rice was wrapped separately in plastic wrap.

Is the seafood takeout easy to carry by car?

They packed the individually wrapped crab-shell fried rice together with the red snow crab legs.

Since I planned to take it by car, I was concerned about smells or leaks, but they wrapped the lunchbox carefully in plastic wrap too.

Finally, they put it in a dedicated bag. I brought it from Sokcho to my home in Ansan without any leaks or inconvenience from smells.

How were the red snow crab and fried rice at home?

When I opened it at home, there was plenty of both crab meat and fried rice. A nutty sesame oil aroma rose up when I opened the lid.

My father tried a crab leg first. The crab had cooled during the trip to Ansan, so I considered reheating it, but it was sweet and salty when we tried it, so we ate it as it was.

The red snow crab was cleaned, so it was easy to eat. I scraped out the meat with a small fork, or cut the upper part with scissors and took it out. The shells were not hard, and there was meat not only in the legs and claws but also in the body.

There was meat even toward the lower part of the legs. I also ate the crab-shell fried rice without reheating it; it was nutty, and there was so much rice that the two of us were full after eating it with the crab.

Because the shop cleaned the crab and prepared the fried rice, I could eat easily at home. I also felt it was good value, although the original post did not record a specific payment amount. Thanks to the careful packaging, I was satisfied with it as food to take home after the trip.
