Masan, Changwon set-meal lunch for three at 1pm: Yun Sikdang

Yun Sikdang is a hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) restaurant on Bukseong-ro in Jungseong-dong, Masan, Changwon, serving one menu only: a grilled bulgogi set meal. Arriving at 1pm on a weekend with my parents, the three-person table came with whelk salad, marinated abalone, steamed egg, japchae and a doenjang stew thick with ingredients — enough to almost overshadow the grilled bulgogi itself. My parents had some errands in Masan on the weekend, and while we were figuring out what to eat for lunch, I found Yun Sikdang! It's a Korean set meal place where the main dish is grilled bulgogi, but looking at the photos, the side dishes looked so neat and well put together 👀
My dad loves eating lots of different banchan (side dishes), so I figured this place would be perfect and we headed straight there haha. When we arrived there were already quite a few customers — we might have had to wait if we'd been just a little later...🤣 So today I'll share our visit to Yun Sikdang, a set-meal restaurant in Jungseong-dong, Masan, Changwon~!

Right during lunch hours from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and again from 6 PM onward for dinner, there's no enforcement, so you can park right in front of the restaurant :)
If parking space is tight, the Bukmasan Furniture Street public parking lot gives you 1 hour free!
Is there a wait at Yun Sikdang at 1pm on a weekend?
Yun Sikdang has a waiting area right when you walk in, and when we arrived at 1pm on a weekend, our table was the last one before the place filled up completely. We nearly had to wait...haha
But turnover was pretty quick, so tables opened up fast! There were a lot of seats, and it seemed like groups came here often too — most tables were seating 4 haha
Utensils, aprons and baby chairs: cleanliness at Yun Sikdang
Yun Sikdang has individually wrapped spoons, chopsticks, and wet wipes, all neatly packaged. So hygienic..💫 If you glance around a bit, you'll spot aprons hanging up!
The restrooms are toward the back of the restaurant, separated for men and women, and there's a sink inside each restroom plus one more outside — perfect if you just want to wash your hands. There were also baby chairs, and I saw quite a few customers dining with kids.
Every table had plastic sheeting laid down, which made it feel even more hygienic. There were tidy paper cups too, and hair ties available if you need them!
What comes on the three-person grilled bulgogi set meal
Yun Sikdang's menu is a single grilled bulgogi set meal — you just tell them how many people, and they order per person. We were three, so we got the 3-person spread!
The staff set the table up in a way that made you go 'wow' the moment you saw it.
Lettuce, perilla leaves, and whelk salad...? As a chojang (vinegar-chili sauce) lover I was very satisfied hahahaha
How the side dishes tasted (the seasoned crab is heavy on bang-ah herb)
As for the other banchan (side dishes) — two kinds of kimchi (fermented just right, delicious), steamed egg, eggplant salad?, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry) and mung bean sprouts all seasoned perfectly. I thought it was so good 👍
The seasoned crab's sauce was delicious, but it has bang-ah (a strong-smelling Korean herb) in it, so the aroma is quite intense! ㅠㅠ
The marinated abalone also came one per person and wasn't too salty — the flavor was good!! The kimchi pancake, grilled fish, and grilled bulgogi are probably meant to be the stars, but they kind of got buried under the other dishes 㠠
The doenjang stew, packed with ingredients
Yun Sikdang's doenjang (soybean paste) stew was brought out a little later, bubbling hot in a stone pot... the smell alone told you it was serious, and inside there was zucchini, crab, tofu, onion — so many ingredients packed in!
You could probably eat a whole meal with just this... the broth is rich and amazing..
The grilled fish is nicely salty and goes perfectly with rice 👍

The grilled bulgogi that had been briefly forgotten🫠 There were so many other side dishes that the main dish kept slipping our minds hahaha, but it was seasoned just right, went well with any side dish, and tasted great!!! My mom wrapped it in perilla leaf and said it was delicious 👍
Would I go back to Yun Sikdang for lunch in Masan?
We found this place in a rush, but we ended up finding somewhere really great. I wanted meat and I wanted doenjang stew, and Yun Sikdang gave me both...💫 I came here because I really love Korean food, and I had zero regrets 💯
Even after lunch hours, people kept coming in nonstop. I think the key is just timing your visit well hahahahahahaha If I'm ever in Masan and craving Korean food, I'd come straight to Yun Sikdang without hesitation haha
