Yun Sikdang is a set-meal Korean restaurant in the Bukmasan furniture street area of Masan, with just one menu item: the grilled bulgogi set meal. The banchan (side dishes) come out in such variety and abundance that it's a local favorite with a steady stream of customers.

On a Sunday evening, my husband and I were trying to figure out what to eat with our kid, and we decided on Yun Sikdang for the grilled bulgogi set meal with all its side dishes haha

Yun Sikdang is located on the Bukmasan furniture street, and you can use the public parking lot there. We visited on a quiet Sunday evening, and even so, plenty of customers were coming through the normally quiet furniture street ^^ We hadn't been in a while, but it was still just as popular.

What is Sunday evening like at Yun Sikdang?

Yun Sikdang is popular enough to have a waitlist at lunchtime, but we came for dinner on the weekend haha. Compared to lunch, we were able to eat more comfortably with some breathing room.

Even in the evening, customers kept coming in nonstop. It really lives up to its reputation as a Masan set-meal favorite. We hadn't visited in a while, and it was still just as delicious — very satisfying ^^ The interior is spacious and the staff are all friendly, so it seems like a great spot for group gatherings or family meals too haha.

How many banchan come with the set meal?

Right after, they set the table with the basic side dishes — and wow, such a wide variety, so beautifully arranged it could break the table legs. What's more, each banchan is made with real care and tastes amazing ^^ You'd think a place with so many side dishes might skimp on flavor, but at Masan favorite Yun Sikdang every single one is delicious, so once you visit, you're guaranteed to come back hahaha.

The doenjang jjigae was my husband's top pick

The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), bubbling away in its earthenware pot, was genuinely delicious haha. It was so good I nearly ordered an extra. The broth was clean yet deep in flavor — really tasty haha. My husband said the doenjang jjigae is the real winner ^^

Kimchi pancake even a young child will eat

The kimchi pancake came out freshly grilled and golden brown — it's not spicy, so our kid ate it happily haha. The edges were nice and crispy, cooked just right haha.

Soy-marinated abalone and the grilled bulgogi

The braised abalone also came out — not too salty, with amazing savory depth. Chewy and delicious haha.

The grilled bulgogi was full of smoky char and came in a generous portion — delicious wrapped in lettuce or eaten plain.

They also serve alcohol, so Yun Sikdang is a great spot for a shot of soju alongside the tasty side dishes ^^
