Masan lunch restaurant, second in line at 11:10am: Yun Sikdang
In short
Yun Sikdang is a single-menu Korean set-meal lunch restaurant on the Bukmasan furniture street (Bukseong-ro) in Masan, Changwon. Arriving 20 minutes before the 11:30am opening put this couple second in line, waiting indoors, and their one table arrived loaded with salad, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), eggplant namul, grilled bulgogi, fish, blue crab doenjang stew (soybean paste stew), seasoned raw crab, abalone jang and kimchi pancake. The sancho pepper aroma in the seasoned crab divides opinion, but the rest of the spread at Yun Sikdang was great value for a very full lunch.

Yun Sikdang (윤식당)

Hi everyone :) I had about two hours free today while our dog Kkomi was at the groomer, so my husband and I decided to grab lunch together near the Bukmasan furniture street. We ended up at Yun Sikdang.

Yun Sikdang opening time and wait: what if you arrive at 11:10am?
Yun Sikdang opens at 11:30am, and we got there around 11:10. Even before opening, there was already one group ahead of us, so we were second!✌️
It was pretty hot out, but luckily they let us wait inside even before opening. Not having to sweat it out on the sidewalk turned out to be a bigger perk than I expected.

Yun Sikdang menu: single set meal for two or more, plus what you can add on
They took our order around 11:20. The menu is a single set meal with a minimum order of two servings, and you can add on main dishes like the grilled meat platter, kimchi pancake, doenjang stew, grilled fish, seasoned crab, and abalone jang. The food also came out faster than I expected.

The origin of the pork, rice, squid, fish, napa cabbage kimchi, and abalone are all listed. Check the photo for reference!

What comes on the Yun Sikdang table, and the sancho pepper note in the seasoned crab
As the dishes started coming out one by one, I thought, "wait, can we really eat all of this?" haha, it was that generous. Salad, mung bean sprouts, japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), eggplant namul, bulgogi, fish, blue crab doenjang stew, seasoned crab, more japchae, abalone jang, kimchi pancake — the side dishes alone were incredibly varied. Bulgogi, fish, and abalone jang were also available as add-ons.
That said, the seasoned crab has a pretty strong sancho pepper aroma! I'm not really a fan of sancho, so I couldn't eat much of it, but my husband, who loves sancho, dug right in and said it was delicious! If you're into sancho, this might actually be right up your alley. Aside from the seasoned crab, I really enjoyed everything else.

How do Yun Sikdang's grilled bulgogi and blue crab doenjang stew taste?
The grilled bulgogi had a subtle smoky char that made it even better! And honestly, every single dish was solid. Some places have one great dish and the rest are just okay, but here I kept reaching for one thing after another.

The bulgogi went great wrapped in lettuce and perilla leaves, and the blue crab doenjang stew was so refreshing it felt like it cleared out my insides! haha. Great with rice.
Everything came out around the same time without much wait, so I took a full shot of the whole spread! Looks generous even at a glance, right? Bulgogi, fish, blue crab doenjang stew, seasoned crab, japchae — the table was packed and we actually paused for a second wondering what to eat first, haha. With so much variety, it was fun picking through everything, and even for two people, we ate until we were completely full without anything feeling scarce. With a spread and taste like this, I'd call Yun Sikdang a genuinely great-value lunch spot in Masan.

Tips for a lunchtime visit to Yun Sikdang, and the verdict
Just the two of us eating, but we picked up speed and basically fought our way through it like a battle of Bukmasan, haha haha. We kept picking at this and that until eventually we felt like we were about to burst... haha.
The overall atmosphere is comfortable and clean, so it seemed like a fine spot for a family lunch too. Since we came early, we got to eat fairly leisurely, but by the time we left, customers kept streaming in and there were quite a few people waiting. It's clearly a spot that gets busy at lunchtime, so if you have the flexibility, timing your visit around opening is a good idea. Thanks to that, we got to eat without waiting and headed straight off to pick up Kkomi.
With a varied menu, food that's tasty across the board, and above all a generous spread, Yun Sikdang seems like a solid pick for anyone looking for a great-value meal. The two of us left completely stuffed and very satisfied!
