I went with a friend for a hearty, tasty meal at Daedong Korean Buffet, known as a go-to buffet spot in Cheoin-gu, Yongin. With prices going up everywhere these days, getting a full satisfying meal without breaking the bank has been rare — but here, the generous, home-style side dishes were made with real care, and I left really happy!

I typed the address into my navigation, and as soon as I arrived, I spotted the Daedong Korean Buffet sign right on the red brick building.
There was plenty of parking space right in front of the building, so driving there was no hassle at all. 🚗

Near the counter, I saw a massive pile of receipts and order slips 😲 — it instantly showed how many local office workers and group orders come through here. It had that unmistakable feel of a place truly trusted by the neighborhood. 🧾
On one side, dosirak boxes were stacked up, ready to go out for delivery. It seemed like a lot of people order not just the buffet but also dosirak and catering.

At Daedong Korean Buffet, adults can enjoy unlimited access to a wide variety of Korean side dishes and self-serve corners for just ₩9,000. With how expensive a single meal can feel these days, this really stood out as a huge plus.
Dosirak boxes are the same price, making them an easy, affordable option for nearby office workers or for eating outdoors. Drinks are reasonably priced too — soju/beer ₩4,000, makgeolli ₩3,000, soft drinks ₩2,000 — so it looked like a great spot to enjoy a drink with your meal too 👍👍

Stepping inside, the space felt really spacious and pleasant. There were large tables for groups, plus window bar seats where you could comfortably eat solo without feeling self-conscious.

Crispy fried chicken and pork cutlet, sweet-spicy braised tofu and sautéed sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, savory stir-fried anchovies, fresh geotjeori kimchi (freshly seasoned cabbage kimchi) and mukmuchim (seasoned jelly noodles), plus crunchy salad — such a generous spread!!!
Tasting everything one by one, the seasoning wasn't too strong — just right, and genuinely delicious. From the crispy fried items to the warm braised tofu and fresh kimchi, it really felt like eating a home-cooked meal made by your mom with love. My friend and I kept saying how good it was and went back for refills again and again until we cleaned our plates. ✨

Chewy, sweet honey rice cakes, baram-tteok (crescent rice cakes)? There was also a self-serve ramen corner where you cook it yourself in a pot, and a toast station for browning your own toast.

It was great being able to pick whatever suited my taste 😄😄 Getting everything from the main meal to dessert sorted in one place made for a really satisfying experience. 🍞✨
After finishing a filling meal, on the way out there was a neat little coffee machine set up for dessert. ☕
