They were also selling syrups made from doraji (balloon flower root), deodeok, and ginger, but we went for the oranda since it's easy to snack on in the car, at the accommodation, and also makes a good gift.

When you come to Sokcho Jungang Market, everyone tends to eat chicken gangjeong. But when you get tired of just chicken gangjeong, it's really nice to have other things like this to eat too.
Samples were available, so I tried some, and it was much more refreshing than the ones I'd had elsewhere, so I could eat several pieces without getting tired of it. It wasn't just plain sweet — it had a refreshing taste, which I liked.

They also sell buckwheat makgeolli and corn makgeolli. Picking up local products like these alongside the snacks seemed like a great idea too.
