Daiso price comparison at Seohae home goods store On Saenghwal

Once we started our newlywed life, I realized home goods cost way more than I expected. My husband and I actually set a goal when we got married: be as thrifty as possible with household items! So we've always been pretty regular Daiso shoppers.

Then I heard there was a home goods store near our place just as cheap as Daiso, so my husband and I went to check it out ourselves. This time we visited On Saenghwal (온생활), near Seohae District Office Station.

Where is On Saenghwal, and where do you park?

On Saenghwal is located on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Seonmin Building at 57 Takok-ro, Seohae-gu, Incheon, near Seohae District Office Station. It's open from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM, and you can park for free for 1 hour either at the IBK Bank across the street or at the Seohae District Office Annex behind the building.

At first I figured it was just an average neighborhood home goods store, but once we actually went in, there were way more items than we expected, so the two of us ended up browsing for a while, haha.

We drove there, and parking was easier than I thought. You can use the underground parking at the Seohae District Office Annex, or park across the street near IBK Bank, so it'd be convenient for anyone driving to buy a lot of home goods.

1st floor groceries, 2nd floor home goods

On Saenghwal has two floors total.

I thought the 1st floor would start with home goods, but it's actually mostly groceries. They sell general groceries as well as refrigerated and frozen food, so there was more to look at than I expected.

Then we went up to the 2nd floor, and that's where the real home goods selection unfolded.

Honestly, from outside the building I never expected the store to have such a variety of products. But once we got inside, it was a completely different feeling!

"Whoa, they actually have a lot more stuff than I thought?"

That's the first thing my husband and I said to each other, lol.

What On Saenghwal doesn't stock is the shorter list

The 2nd floor of On Saenghwal had a really wide variety of home goods. Tools, wet wipes, mouthwash, shampoo, toilet paper, frying pans, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and on and on... there was no end to listing it all, so honestly it'd be faster to figure out what they don't carry.

Each section throughout the store was labeled with categories and numbers, which made it easy to find what we needed.

Stores with lots of merchandise can sometimes feel chaotic, but since everything here was organized by category, it was easy to browse and find what we needed. We looked through home goods for our newlywed apartment, and it ended up taking way longer than expected. We meant to just buy what we needed and leave, but with my husband going "oh, they have this too?" the time flew by, haha.

Kids' toys on sale on the 2nd floor

Another section I had fun browsing was the toy corner at On Saenghwal. There was a wide variety of toys kids could play with, and when I visited, some products were on sale.

From the trendy squishy toys to all sorts of other items, I thought it'd be fun to browse here with a kid. I figured it was just a home goods store, but they had such a variety of toys too, which made exploring the store even more enjoyable.

On Saenghwal vs. Daiso: how do the prices compare?

Honestly, the biggest reason I got curious about On Saenghwal was the price. Since we shop at Daiso so often, I naturally started comparing prices.

As we browsed, we found a lot of items were priced similarly to Daiso, and some were actually cheaper. Of course, not everything was cheaper than Daiso — prices vary item by item, so it's worth comparing directly for whatever you need. Still, as someone who buys home goods at Daiso all the time, it felt nice to have another option.

And personally, what I liked was that prices were displayed right on each item! I didn't have to ask "how much is this?" one by one while picking things out — I could just check the price right away. Since I like to compare prices and take my time choosing, that mattered quite a bit to me.

The 5 things this newlywed couple actually bought

At first we really meant to just browse and leave empty-handed, but as usual, that proved difficult, lol. We picked out home goods that were running low at home. What we ended up buying this time was:

• Storage baskets
• Soap
• Dish soap

Those 5 items. Exactly the kind of things that run out one by one once you're living in a newlywed home. Storage baskets especially — we always end up needing several while organizing the house, so whenever we spot a good price, we grab one. With these essentials in hand, we headed home.

Before I got married, even if I went to a home goods store, I'd just buy one or two things I needed. But once we started our newlywed life, my perspective shifted a little. Even small things like wet wipes, rubber gloves, or dish soap keep running out constantly. So these days I find myself naturally searching for "where can I get this even a little cheaper?"

In that sense, discovering On Saenghwal this time was a pretty welcome find. We only bought the 5 things we needed that day, but next time I'm planning to make a list of what we need at home before we go.
