Pocheon weekday lunch restaurant with hanwoo steak: Eoneu Dal

I was out near Pocheon Art Valley and went looking for a nice-vibe restaurant for lunch, which is how I ended up at Eoneu Dal (어느달).

It's known as a Pocheon pasta spot, so I was curious — here's the rundown after a satisfying meal that went from steak to salad.

Where is Eoneu Dal, is there parking, and how long is the weekday lunch wait?

Eoneu Dal sits on Jeongmun-dong-gil, about 4 minutes by car from Pocheon City Hall and around 15 minutes from Pocheon Art Valley.

The white-toned building with floor-to-ceiling windows stands out even from a distance, and the front yard doubles as parking, so you can just pull in and walk right inside. There's also a separate dedicated lot in back, so parking stress wasn't a thing here.

Even on a weekday lunch, there were quite a few guests, so we registered for a table at the Table Booking kiosk by the entrance. Luckily we only waited about 5 minutes before being seated.

I heard weekends are fully booked as a rule, so if you're visiting on a weekend, reserving ahead via CatchTable seems like the safer bet.

Inside Eoneu Dal: white-toned interior and seating

Walk through the door and the white interior, high ceilings, and big windows give it a really open, airy feel.

Yellow floral arrangements and potted plants are scattered around, with flowers even placed atop the partition in front of the kitchen — every angle photographs nicely.

Further in, there's a somewhat private table for four.

The tables are spaced generously apart, so we could eat without worrying about the neighboring table. To the right of the entrance is a large wooden table for group seating.

Several white high chairs were also on hand, and there were plenty of families with young kids.

It works well both as a Pocheon date spot and as a place to bring your parents.

Eoneu Dal menu, prices and how to order

Ordering at Eoneu Dal is done by scanning the QR code on the table, and payment happens at the counter after your meal. The menu covers steak, pasta, risotto, pilaf, and salad, plus wine, draft beer, and ades.

We ordered three dishes.

• Hanwoo striploin steak ₩55,000
• Salmon salad (L) ₩19,000
• Vongole pasta ₩19,000

The basic setting includes cool water with herbs and lemon, warm salt bread, and house-made pickles.

The pickles were crunchy and sweet-and-sour, so my hand kept reaching for more — they'll refill them once you finish.

Salmon salad L, 19,000 won: how is the kelp-cured salmon?

We ordered Eoneu Dal's salmon salad in the large size (₩19,000), and it arrived piled high with vegetables and salmon.

The salmon was sliced thick with zero fishy taste, and mixed with the sesame-based oriental dressing it turned nutty and refreshing.

The salmon is apparently cured with kelp — a light dab of wasabi at the start kept it interesting all the way through without getting tiresome. The large size was plenty for two.

Then you eat it together with the sauce. The thick salmon with fruit and cabbage made for a very refreshing bite.

Vongole pasta, 19,000 won: piled with clams and minari

Eoneu Dal's vongole pasta (₩19,000) surprised me first with the sheer amount of clams.

Clams were piled high on top of the noodles, and the garlic-and-olive-oil-scented clam broth had soaked well into the pasta.

Underneath the clams was a bed of finely chopped minari (water parsley), adding a fragrant note, and a light squeeze of lemon finished it off clean without any heaviness.

It made total sense why this place is called a Pocheon pasta spot.

Hanwoo striploin steak, 55,000 won

Eoneu Dal's hanwoo striploin steak comes sliced into easy-to-eat pieces over mashed potatoes, served with grilled mushrooms, asparagus, whole garlic, and cherry tomatoes.

Thanks to the marbling striploin is known for, the outside was nicely browned while the inside stayed moist with deep juiciness.

A little wholegrain mustard on top, or spreading the mashed potato on the salt bread, gave it a different flavor each time — all three dishes played off each other really well.

I've had steak a few times recently, and this hanwoo striploin at Eoneu Dal was the best of the bunch.

Is Eoneu Dal worth it? Verdict and tips before you go

If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere restaurant in Pocheon, Eoneu Dal is well worth recommending. Food quality and portions, the bright interior, and ample parking — nothing left me wanting.

There's a wait even on weekday lunches, so for weekends or peak meal times, book ahead on CatchTable. Also, the pasta portion runs about 1.5 servings, so ordering one fewer dish than the number of people is plenty.
