Custard honey bread, dog kiosk at Pocheon bakery café Geurine Oasis

Today I'm introducing a Pocheon café I visited with my kids and husband! (I really do love going to cafés haha) I'd heard it had a pretty lake view and tasty bread, so I'd been curious about it — off we went!!!!

The place is none other than Geurine Oasis in Gomo-ri, Pocheon~ It's a fairly large place too, so it seems to be well known among people looking for a big bakery café in Pocheon.

Visiting at 4:30pm: full car park, plenty of free seats

We got there around 4:30pm. The parking lot was packed with cars so at first I was a little worried. With two little ones in tow, I thought, what if the seating is just as crowded haha. But once we got inside, there were actually plenty of seats!

Between the main building, the annex, and the outdoor seating, people were spread out nicely.

Being a genuinely large bakery café in Pocheon, it didn't feel cramped even visiting as a family. And the biggest draw here was definitely the lake view.

The Gomo Reservoir (고모저수지) view in front of the café was really pretty~~?! The building and outdoor spaces all had this exotic vibe overall, so it felt like a little getaway haha.

There are lots of good photo spots too, so it'd work well not just for family outings but as a unique date spot in Pocheon. On a nice day, sipping coffee outside with the lake in view is perfect~~

You can order at the counter or use one of the two kiosks — whichever's easier. There was also a separate dog-only kiosk! If you want to order treats for your dog, that looked really convenient haha.

My stomach suddenly turned that day, so I couldn't eat anything and only ordered for my husband ㅠㅠ He picked an americano and what I remember as custard honey bread (커스터드 꿀결 식빵).

From what I saw, this bread didn't seem to show up on the kiosk. If you spot bread on display that isn't listed on the kiosk, it's worth asking a staff member! I'd been looking forward to trying it since I heard it was delicious, so not getting to eat it was the biggest letdown ㅠㅠ

My husband's verdict: crispy on the outside, subtly sweet when you eat it, and really moist inside

Next time I'll definitely come back when I'm feeling better and properly try the bakery haha.

Where can dogs go at Geurine Oasis?

Geurine Oasis has a dog run, and dogs are allowed in the annex and part of the outdoor area. So it seemed like a solid option for people looking for a dog-friendly café in Pocheon. That said, dogs can't go into the main building, so keep that in mind before you visit.

What was Geurine Oasis like with a baby?

As a family visiting with kids, the spaciousness was what I liked most. Even with a full parking lot, the inside of the café wasn't as crowded as I expected haha.

We could take a little walk outside with the kids and take in the lake view, so it never felt stifling. Above all, the overall vibe was definitely more exotic than your typical large café.

This time I couldn't properly enjoy the bread and coffee because I wasn't feeling well ㅠㅠ but I liked the space itself so I'm definitely coming back!!!

If you're driving around Pocheon looking for a large bakery café, or looking for a dog-friendly café in Pocheon to bring your pup along, this place is worth a visit haha (I've been going to dog-friendly cafés a lot lately haha)

Next time I want to go a bit earlier and grab a seat closer to the lake, so I can properly enjoy the bread and coffee~
