Weekday sunset and deck-path walk at Pocheon café Geurine Oasis
In short
Geurine Oasis is a large café in Soheul-eup, Pocheon, Gyeonggi, looking out over Gomo Reservoir near Gwangneung Arboretum. On an autumn weekday afternoon the writer walked through the main building and the annex, drank coffee served in a reusable cup, then headed down the deck path beside the café around 6:30 pm for the reservoir trail, the fountain show and the sunset. With dogs welcome, a wide dog run and fire-gazing at night, Geurine Oasis is a place worth coming back to with a dog.

An oasis-like café discovered on a trip to Pocheon: 'Geurine Oasis'

A day when the weather had turned cool and properly autumnal. Now that we can dodge the midday heat, I decided to head to a nice café where we could finally get some fresh air outdoors. After some searching, the café we picked today is 'Geurine Oasis,' which cradles Gomo Reservoir near Gwangneung Arboretum in Pocheon.

Parking and the two buildings at Geurine Oasis: main hall and annex
We arrived at Geurine Oasis. There's dedicated parking right in front of the café building, and since we visited on a relatively quiet weekday, we had no trouble parking. The café is made up of two buildings total. What you see in this photo is the entrance to the main building.

The interior was decorated in a clean, no-frills style. Here and there on the walls, 'Geurine Oasis' has pretty cups on display.

Where do you order? The kiosk in the main building
Orders can only be placed in the main building. As shown on the left in the photo, you order via the kiosk.

In front of the counter, breads and cakes and other desserts are displayed like this.

The menu at Pocheon's 'Geurine Oasis.' They sell a huge variety of coffees and drinks.

Dogs welcome at Geurine Oasis, with treats made for dogs
And one more distinctive charm of this café. Dogs are welcome!

They even thoughtfully sell dog-specific treats for customers bringing their dogs. The interior of the annex, the other building next to the main hall. Simple, tidy tables are set out, with distinctive lighting fixtures on the ceiling as an accent.
The outdoor space: resort-like planting and a lettering sculpture
We passed through the inside of the café building and out to the outdoors.

Seen from outside, the café feels like you've traveled abroad. An exotic atmosphere fills Pocheon's 'Geurine Oasis.'

With your back to the building, you come to a space with a lettering installation set up. This feels like the main spot of the café! Let's take a look on video too~ Behind the lettering installation in the photo, the refreshing Gomo Reservoir stretches out.

True to its name, the café has placed cactus pots here and there to evoke an oasis-like feel.

This spot, with its lush green colors, eases eye strain.

The best table for the Gomo Reservoir view
This right here is the prime table for enjoying the Gomo Reservoir view!

The café sits on slightly elevated ground, so you get to look down a bit onto Gomo Reservoir like this.

Coffee served in a reusable cup. After finishing the coffee, they said you could take the cup with you if you wanted. A café that thinks about the environment too — commendable!

On one side of the café, there's a fairly large dog run where dogs can run around freely. A place I'd love to come back to with our Nurungi next time!
6:30 pm: walking the deck path down to Gomo Reservoir
Around 6:30 pm. Before the sun went down, I wanted to see Gomo Reservoir a little closer up. Through the deck path off to the side of the café, you can get close to Gomo Reservoir like this. The view of the café looking back from down on the deck path. There's a well-maintained walking trail all around Gomo Reservoir.
A fountain show at Gomo Reservoir that has nothing to envy Las Vegas for! Hahahaha As we strolled along leisurely, we got to watch Gomo Reservoir as the sun gradually set. A mesmerizing time spent admiring the gorgeous sunset.

Back again at the café 'Geurine Oasis.' The sunset glowing behind the café is so beautiful.

Now it's time to head home. In a region like Pocheon, where I thought there wasn't really a nice café worth a proper outing, today's café felt like a genuine oasis: 'Geurine Oasis.' Apparently you can even do fire-gazing here at night, so next time I definitely want to come back and fully enjoy some fire-gazing leisure time with our Nurungi.
