I heard there was an up-and-coming barbecue place in Namcheon-dong, so I came for an early dinner. Geobugi Dongne (거북이동네, meaning 'turtle town').
The name seems to match their slogan — '14 days of aging, slow but delicious.' Cute....
Geobugi Dongne has a lot of chain locations, and this Busan Namcheon branch looked like it had only just opened. It was decorated with a grand-opening ribbon, like a present — adorable.

The interior was spacious and clean, big enough for group reservations of around 20. Tables come as 6-seaters by default, which is a real plus — even a party of 2 or 4 gets plenty of room.

The menu and the pot rice
The menu is broadly divided into set menus, pork, beef, meal items, and shabu-shabu. The first order starts from 500g. Great value, and this place is famous for meat quality too, so my expectations went up.
Oh! One unusual thing — instead of regular rice, you can order pot rice here. And it turned out to be seriously amazing.... you'll see below!!!
The private room
Private and spacious enough for up to 20 people, so it's a great fit for group dinners. Highly recommend!!

There are high chairs and a kids' video room. I couldn't take a photo inside the video room since a staff member was resting there, but it's a cozy little space where kids can relax while watching videos.
The ₩5,000 all-you-can-eat self-serve corner
There's a spread of vegetables, side dishes, and extras. Gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi), bean sprouts, sweet corn, gungchae, pickled onions, rice cakes and more — all unlimited, which I think is one of Geobugi Dongne's biggest perks!

They have a doenjang-jjigae timer here. Depending on whether you're 2 or 3 people, an alarm goes off and then you're good to eat it.

★Something parents with kids will love!! ★ There's a TV mounted next to each table, and it shows a real-time feed of the kids playing in the video room! Being able to eat freely without having to stay glued to your child sounds amazing from a parent's point of view.

Salt is the original way to go. The meat's natural flavor with salt is clean and really delicious.
Now for the wrap attack. Layering perilla leaves and lettuce, adding pickled onion and scallion salad, one bite and my mouth is in heaven....♡

Geobugi Dongne's pot rice — this is the kicker. After finishing the meat, order the doenjang-jjigae and mix it into the pot rice; that's also seriously delicious.

Another day, another full and satisfying spread!!
Ah, and it's not over yet. The finale is ice cream!!! It's honestly better than the soft-serve cone from that famous fast food chain. You have to try it!!

This was my first visit to Geobugi Dongne. I came because it's known for great value, and it's not just the value — the meat quality is really good too. Top-tier meat quality plus an all-you-can-eat self-serve bar makes this a perfect barbecue restaurant for families, friends, dates, or group dinners alike!
