Hapjeong Station pork belly grill house with window seats: Jeongyukdo

In short

Jeongyukdo is a pork belly grill house on the second floor of the food alley by Exits 5 and 6 of Hapjeong Station in Mapo, Seoul. From a window table for four, the writer ordered the 500g Handon (Korean pork) set for 49,000 won, added 150g of pork belly, grilled everything over charcoal, and finished with the doenjang stew (soybean paste stew with hanwoo beef) included in the set plus a 3,200 won Hanmac draft beer. Good cuts, real charcoal smoke and outdoor patio tables make Jeongyukdo an easy choice for a Hapjeong group dinner or date.

Today I visited Jeongyukdo, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Hapjeong Station. It's tucked into a busy commercial strip, great for group gatherings, and the atmosphere was excellent.

The place is spacious and comfortable, and it even has a nice outdoor patio (yajang) area, so I could enjoy my meat leisurely without any wait. For anyone looking for a solid pork belly spot near Hapjeong Station for a work dinner or a date, here's my honest review.

Jeongyukdo hours and parking near Hapjeong Station

Jeongyukdo is located at 14 Yanghwa-ro 6-gil, 2nd floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, and is open from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM.

There's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby one. If you're driving, there's a paid Kakao T unmanned parking lot and Yonsei parking lot close to the restaurant.

Where Jeongyukdo is and what the room looks like

Jeongyukdo sits on the 2nd floor right in the middle of the food alley between Exit 5 and Exit 6 of Hapjeong Station, so it's very easy to reach by public transit. The interior is spacious with generous spacing between tables, so I could sit right down without any wait.

What are the seats like at Jeongyukdo?

Seating ranges from tables for four up to group seating. I chose a window-side table for four.

The regular indoor hall was clean, but they also have outdoor patio seating where you can eat while getting fresh air, which gave the place a distinct vibe. Being able to enjoy that outdoor barbecue feeling in the middle of the city made it especially appealing among Hapjeong BBQ spots for group gatherings or drinks.

Jeongyukdo menu prices and side dishes

Jeongyukdo's menu includes pork belly 150g for 17,000 won, pork neck 150g for 17,000 won, raw pork ribs 250g for 17,000 won, and the Hanwoo pork set 500g for 49,000 won. On top of that, there's Hanmac draft beer for 3,200 won and hanwoo doenjang stew for 5,000 won.

I ordered the Hanwoo pork set 500g plus an extra 150g of pork belly. The pork set comes with raw ribs + flower pork neck + pork belly + your choice of stew (either myeoljeot stew in an earthen pot or hanwoo doenjang stew). Being able to try various pork cuts at once, plus a stew included, made it a great value set.

The side dishes at Jeongyukdo, this Hapjeong BBQ restaurant, include scallion salad, pickled onions, pickled chili peppers, salted seafood, and radish kimchi. There's a good variety of sides that go well with the meat, so you can pick what suits your taste.

I tend to eat a lot of onions with my meat, and seeing such a generous portion made me glad I'd come.

How is the 500g Handon set and charcoal-grilled pork belly?

My Hanwoo pork set plus one serving of pork belly came out quickly. The meat had great marbling — really high quality. Since the set is raw ribs + flower pork neck + pork belly, I put the raw ribs on the grill first.

Jeongyukdo, this Hapjeong BBQ restaurant, has strong heat, so once the meat hit the charcoal grill, it picked up a smoky aroma and browned beautifully on the outside. It felt richer and tastier than a typical smoky flavor — my mouth was watering. Somehow more intense, if that makes sense?

Raw ribs cooking on the charcoal grill

Jeongyukdo's bone-in raw ribs have a chewy texture and deep savoriness that comes through more the more you chew. The flower pork neck, despite its thickness, wasn't dry at all — juicy and tender, which made it a real treat.

Personally, I think flower pork neck tastes better when the inside stays moist. Grilling it to medium or medium-well keeps the juices in, making it even more delicious.

The Hapjeong pork belly had a chewy skin and a perfect ratio of meat to fat, delivering an incredible flavor thanks to that distinctive charcoal char!

The bone-in meat was grilled slowly until crispy. There's also the fun of picking it up by the bone to eat. Paired with the scallion salad and sauces, it was even more of a treat.

The doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) included with the Hanwoo pork set had a savory, salty flavor that was excellent. It comes out simmering in a small earthen pot, and the seasoning was salty in exactly my style. Packed with meat and hearty ingredients, it's the kind of dish that makes you eat way more rice than you planned.

Cold draft beer was perfect on a hot day. By the way, the Hanmac draft beer is only 3,200 won, which is a great value. It paired especially well with the juicy meat.

Who should eat at Jeongyukdo?

Having experienced it firsthand, Jeongyukdo impressed me across the board — excellent meat quality, charcoal aroma, and a comfortable, spacious layout — making it a solid Korean BBQ restaurant near Hapjeong Station.

If you want to properly experience juicy, chewy-skinned pork belly near Hapjeong Station, or you want to grill meat in an outdoor patio atmosphere with a cool breeze, this place fits the bill! If you're looking for a can't-go-wrong BBQ spot or gathering place around Hapjeong, give it a visit~
