I heard there was a soufflé spot worth trying in Hapjeong, so this time I went to Petrico :) I'm usually a fan of fluffy soufflé pancakes, so I was curious what theirs would taste like. Bottom line up front — the visuals were pretty and the vibe was nice, so it was a great place to sit back and enjoy dessert.

Where is Petrico, and is there parking?

Petrico is within walking distance of Hapjeong Station,

and since it's a café with parking available, it was fine to visit by car too. Hapjeong has so many cafés that it can be hard to decide where to go, but this time I came specifically for soufflé, so having a clear menu goal was nice haha.

Inside Petrico: a clean, unhurried white-toned café

The moment I walked in, what struck me was how clean everything felt overall. The space is built around white tones, which made it feel even more spacious and relaxed, and the general mood was calm. It's the kind of clean-cut café that people who go hunting for new cafés these days would like.

It wasn't a busy or chaotic vibe, so it seemed like a good spot to chat with friends over dessert, or even to visit on a date. If you're looking for a clean café near Hapjeong Station, this is worth a stop — I'd recommend it to anyone hunting for cafes in Hongdae too.

I ordered the fruit soufflé for ₩18,000 and the omija (schisandra berry) ade for ₩7,000. The fruit soufflé comes with seasonal fruit, brûléed banana, house whipped cream and maple syrup on the side.

I was told the soufflé pancake takes about 15-20 minutes after ordering. Makes sense since it's baked fresh to order, so there's a bit of a wait. Still, knowing a warm soufflé pancake was coming made the wait feel shorter than expected haha. Petrico also has a wide range of coffee menus, so next time I'd love to pair the soufflé with a specialty coffee.

The 18,000 won fruit soufflé arrives

Freshly served fruit soufflé and omija ade

After a bit of a wait, the soufflé and omija ade finally arrived haha. The visuals were so cute and pretty! The soufflé itself looked round and puffy, so I snapped a few photos first.

Since soufflé can deflate pretty quickly, I didn't spend too long taking pictures and dug in right away lol. The way it puffed up so fluffily was adorable, and it looked soft just from looking at it. If you're searching for soufflé as a Hongdae dessert spot, this visual alone would win you over.

Soufflé topped with kiwi, orange, and brûléed banana

On top of the fruit soufflé were kiwi, orange, and banana. The banana in particular wasn't just placed on top plain — it was caramelized, adding an extra sweetness lol.

Alongside that came house whipped cream and maple syrup. Personally, I thought the whipped cream was really good.

Taking a bite of the soufflé with a bit of whipped cream and some fruit together, it was soft and sweet and everything went so well together. I liked that you could drizzle on as much maple syrup as you wanted depending on your taste. The soufflé itself is fluffy and soft, so it paired nicely with the fruit's tartness too.

The banana was a bit sweeter because of the caramelized part, which went well with the soufflé. Eating warm, fluffy soufflé together with cold fruit and cream gave a nice variety of textures, so I kept reaching for more haha. Soufflé pancakes really are best eaten right when they come out.

Omija ade on the side

Since the soufflé was on the sweet side, I picked something a bit tart for my drink. What I ordered was the omija ade! It's made with omija syrup sourced directly from Mungyeong, apparently. When it first arrived, the drink looked layered, so you just stir it together before drinking.

Once mixed and sipped, it was tangy with a bit of carbonation, giving a clean, refreshing feeling in the mouth. After eating the sweet soufflé, one sip of the omija ade felt like a refreshing palate cleanser, so I was glad I ordered it alongside. Personally, this kind of tangy ade menu pairs really well with dessert for me.

Worth it for soufflé pancakes near Hapjeong?

Overall, I really liked Petrico for its clean atmosphere and pretty desserts. The fruit soufflé in particular was pretty from the moment it arrived, great for photos, and the fluffy soufflé with fruit, cream and maple syrup was sweet, soft, and delicious.

Above all, since the soufflé is made fresh to order, you do have to wait about 15-20 minutes, but I liked that you get to eat it warm and fluffy. If you're looking for a good soufflé spot in Hapjeong, Petrico is worth a visit. It has that clean, new-café feel, and since it's a café with parking, it was easy to visit by car too.

A good place to grab dessert with a friend, and also fine for a sweet date spot! Next time I visit, I'd like to try the soufflé pancake alongside a specialty coffee haha. If you're near Hapjeong Station craving a pretty soufflé dessert, I recommend Petrico :) Especially if you love fluffy soufflé, I think you'll be satisfied both visually and taste-wise.
