Mapo café for frozen madeleines to eat later: Fluffy Bake Shop
In short
Fluffy Bake Shop is a dessert café in Mapo, Seoul, near Gongdeok Station, serving madeleines and assorted baked goods. I especially loved the canelé, the gentle buttery flavor, and the huge madeleine selection. Verdict: a lovely stop for takeaway on a Gyeongui Line Forest Park walk.

I visited Fluffy Bake Shop, a great madeleine spot near Gongdeok Station! It was seriously so delicious that I wanted to tell everyone about this dessert shop haha.

It is close to Gongdeok Station, so it is easy to get to, and it is also in a great spot to pop into while walking along Gyeongui Line Forest Park. I totally recommend it to anyone looking for a dessert café near Gongdeok Station.

Fluffy Bake Shop is about 148 m from Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station, so it was really easy to walk there from the station.

Come out of Exit 2 at Gongdeok Station, head straight to the right, and cross at the traffic light. You will see the Gongdeok Roastery building. Go just a little farther right from there and Fluffy Bake Shop appears, with madeleines on its white sign~
Interior atmosphere and seating

The shop felt very clean overall. It is not a huge café, but there were cute little props all around, so it was fun to look at everything, and I liked the charming atmosphere.

There were seats where you could eat in, and I counted around five. So rather than a café for lingering for ages, it felt more like a place to buy delicious baked goods or briefly enjoy coffee and dessert.
What kinds of madeleines are there?
The thing that caught my eye most at Fluffy Bake Shop was, of course, the madeleines!! 👀
Madeleine flavors
Plain, lemon, hallabong, yuzu, Nutella, chocolate, vanilla, black sesame, Earl Grey, matcha, yellow cheese, carrot, chestnut, raspberry, and more

From plain to lemon, hallabong, yuzu, Nutella, chocolate, vanilla, black sesame, Earl Grey, matcha, yellow cheese, carrot, chestnut, and raspberry, there were seriously so many kinds ㄷㄷ

There was such a wide range to choose from depending on your taste that madeleine lovers will probably want to take one of every kind home.
Financier flavors
Plain, chocolate, fig, walnut caramel, gamtae, Nunettine, apple churros, almond, melon, and more

There were also many financier varieties: plain, chocolate, fig, walnut caramel, gamtae (sea lettuce), Nunettine, apple churros, almond, melon, and more.
Canelés, egg tarts, and salt bread

It seems that several canelé varieties are normally available, but when I visited they had vanilla canelés. They were also selling egg tarts and salt bread.
Drinks and gift wrapping

They had everything from standard coffee drinks to non-coffee drinks and tea, so it was easy to pick something to have with dessert. And takeaway drinks were ₩1,000 off, too.

You can also have baked goods gift-wrapped for an additional charge! A 4-piece pulp lunchbox wrap is ₩500, a 6-piece box and shopping bag are ₩2,500, and a 15-piece box and shopping bag are ₩3,500. They looked like they would be pretty, so they seemed nice for a simple dessert gift, too.
How the canelés and baked goods tasted

This is what I bought, and everything was so delicious 🥹 I especially loved the canelé!! 👍 Fluffy Bake Shop says it uses Lescure Charentes-Poitou AOP butter, and that must be why the buttery flavor was so good. The subtle butteriness kept coming through and made me reach for another bite.
There are so many options besides madeleines—financiers, canelés, egg tarts, and salt bread—so it is easy to choose according to your taste. The madeleine selection is especially huge, so I think it would be nice to pick several, freeze them, and take them out one by one to eat!
