In short

A variety of baked treats to take away near Gongdeok Station

As a total after-meal coffee-and-dessert addict, I picked up a variety of baked treats at Fluffy Bake Shop, a popular dessert spot near Gongdeok Station!

By public transport, it is a 2-minute walk from Exit 2 of Gongdeok Station. If you drive, I heard you can park free for 1 hour in the underground parking lot at SK Leaders View Complex 2.

The white exterior made it easy to spot, and the simple madeleine-shaped sign was so cute💕

Fluffy Bake Shop has an ordering area inside, plus a space by the entrance where you can eat in.

And little charming props placed all around the shop were doing their part to make everything extra cute, haha.

Weekend-afternoon baked-goods selection

There were lots of baked treats displayed inside! Since it was a weekend afternoon, I was a little worried—and sure enough, some items were sold outㅠ.ㅠ Still, I took photos of the fairly varied selection that was left!

Fluffy Bake Shop says it offers 16 kinds of madeleines, 9 financiers, and 3 canelés, all made with AOP-grade Lescure butter! AOP (Appellation d'Origine Protégée) is an EU protected-designation-of-origin certification for foods made in a traditional way in a particular region.

When I visited, the salt bread was sold out, while only a small number of egg tarts remained.

Besides vanilla canelés, there were lemon, hallabong, Nutella, espresso pecan, chocolate, plain, vanilla, Earl Grey, and yuzu madeleines.

The financier options included walnut caramel, gamtae (sweet seaweed), Nunettine, apple churros, berry berry, and melon financiers!

There are lots of packaging options for gifts, including 4-piece pulp lunch boxes, 6-piece and 15-piece boxes, and shopping bags, and group orders are available too! It is best to order with plenty of time—3 days ahead is recommended^^

Five madeleines, financiers, and a canelé to take away

I chose a total of 8 baked treats: 5 madeleines, 2 financiers, and a vanilla canelé.

  • Hallabong madeleine
  • Nutella madeleine
  • Earl Grey madeleine
  • Yuzu madeleine
  • Espresso pecan madeleine
  • Vanilla canelé
  • Nunettine financier
  • Walnut caramel financier

They looked so delicious just packed up like this! I tried to choose Fluffy Bake Shop's own distinctive menu items^^

Packaged madeleines, financiers, and canelé

First, I took out the five madeleines. It was honestly so hard to choose them at the shop, haha. Ideally, I wanted to say, “One of everything from here to here, please,” lol.

They got a little shaken up on the way home, so their shapes were slightly messed up—but they still looked delicious!

How they tasted lightly warmed in the oven

I lightly warmed the desserts I was going to eat in the oven first. Madeleines might be better eaten as they are, but I warmed mine just a tiny bit!

The glossy vanilla canelé was crisp outside, and when I split it in half, it had a pleasantly chewy texture!

The Nutella madeleine had Nutella tucked right into the middle. After a quick turn in the oven, the Nutella melted a little, and wow, every bite was seriously sweet, haha.

The hallabong madeleine tasted as fresh and citrusy as it looked, and this one stayed with me for quite a while, haha.

Like the hallabong one, the yuzu madeleine filled my mouth with yuzu fragrance, which I loved. I chose the espresso pecan madeleine because I love coffee, and the nutty pecan and espresso ganache combination was such a pleasant flavor!

The Earl Grey financier's deep Earl Grey fragrance was impressive, and the Nunettine financier had a fun texture. Lastly, the walnut caramel financier had such a lovely caramel aroma and flavor. It is a flavor that everyone should enjoy!

Baked-goods storage and serving instructions

I enjoyed tea time at home with the desserts I picked up from Fluffy Bake Shop. There were so many varieties that tasting them was fun, and I loved that the flavors were each distinctive rather than all similar!

If you are looking for a great dessert spot in Gongdeok, I think Fluffy Bake Shop is well worth a visit^^
