Gongdeok café for Nunettine financiers: Fluffy Bake Shop

There was a café near Gongdeok Station that appeared as a dessert hot spot on Amazing Saturday, so I went to check it out. You know those places featured in the snack segment when you watch the variety show? Everyone said it was incredibly good, so I wanted to try it myself too, haha.

❗️Spoiler alert: here’s my honest takeaway review of Fluffy Bake Shop, which totally earns its place among Gongdeok Station desserts.

An exterior close to Gongdeok Station

It’s really close to Gongdeok Station. Walk about two minutes from Exit 2 and you’ll see it! There’s a big white madeleine shape on the exterior, so I immediately knew, “Oh, this is Fluffy Bake Shop,” haha.
Inside Fluffy Bake Shop and the drink menu

The shop is on the small side, but there is space to sit and eat. One table for three and one for two, haha. I visited late in the afternoon, and quite a few desserts were already sold out. Is that because it was on TV?!

There’s a wide drink selection as well as desserts. Coffee is ₩1,000 off when you get it TO-GO!
Baked treats and gift packaging

There were so many kinds of bakery desserts. The selection was mostly baked treats, from egg tarts to madeleines, financiers, and salt bread, and everything looked so good that choosing was incredibly hard ㅜㅜ (I immediately picked the gamtae financier featured on Amazing Saturday, haha.)

Gift packaging prices
- 4-piece box (lunchbox-style box): ₩500
- 6-piece box + shopping bag: ₩2,500
- 15-piece box + shopping bag: ₩3,500
The baked treats and canelés I took home

- Salt bread: ₩3,600
- Vanilla canelé: ₩3,400
- Chocolate canelé: ₩3,600
- Gamtae financier: ₩3,600
- Nunettine financier: ₩3,800
- Chestnut madeleine: ₩3,700
- Espresso pecan madeleine: ₩3,700
Not exactly a secret that everything looked so good, I chose one of each,,

It was right before dinner, so I tried just one canelé first, haha. I had a canelé at a great place in Yangju and realized that canelés could actually be such delicious desserts; Fluffy Bake Shop is clearly a great canelé spot too!!
It was the definition of crisp outside and moist inside. Bad canelé places sometimes have that distinctive smell, but there was absolutely none of that here. Just a sweet canelé with a crisp exterior and moist center ㅜㅜ

Gamtae and Nunettine financiers
Take a good look at the gamtae financier that appeared on Amazing Saturday!! The financier was crisp on the outside and chewy inside. The aroma of gamtae (Korean seaweed) made the dessert feel especially refined.

The Nunettine financier was crisp outside and chewy inside, with Nunettine’s signature sweetness added in—it was the kind of flavor that makes you want coffee, haha.

The espresso pecan madeleine was delicious too. It had just the right amount of cream, and because the madeleine was moist rather than dry, the espresso-scented cream went wonderfully with it!
How to store the desserts

- Madeleines: keep in a cool place for 2–3 days, or freeze sealed for up to 2 weeks. If frozen, thaw for about 30 minutes to 1 hour before eating.
- Financiers: keep in a cool place for 2–3 days, or freeze sealed for up to 2 weeks. Heat in an oven or air fryer at 160°C for 3–5 minutes; eating them frozen is also recommended.
- Canelés: freeze sealed for up to 2 weeks. If frozen, thaw for about 30 minutes to 1 hour before eating, or heat in an oven or air fryer at 160°C for 10–15 minutes.
My overall takeaway-dessert verdict near Gongdeok Station
At Fluffy Bake Shop, a Gongdeok Station café, even trying just one baked treat gives you that immediate feeling that this place really knows desserts, haha. There are lots of baked treats and gift boxes too, so I recommend Fluffy Bake Shop for dessert gifts as well, haha. Just note that some menu items may be sold out if you visit late.
