Why we chose Pasta Han Kki Nowon Main Branch near Nowon Station

Today we went looking for a good pasta place near home and found Pasta Han Kki Nowon Main Branch. My husband's been on a pasta kick lately, so we've been checking out a lot of pasta spots — but it's always the same story: good price, barely any tasty reviews; good reviews, unfriendly service; good food and reviews, but far away or too fancy for a casual date, or the price is just too much. Pasta Han Kki Nowon is genuinely a place you can go for a relaxed, no-pressure pasta meal.

Where Pasta Han Kki is, opening hours and parking

Pasta Han Kki Nowon Main Branch is on the 1st floor of Daegwang Building, 19 Sangye-ro 5-gil, Nowon-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Hours are 10:50 AM to 10:00 PM (last order 9:00 PM), and parking is available on the 1st floor of the building.

Here's the parking space — it looks like the restaurant can fit about 1–2 cars. I'd recommend calling ahead to check if a spot's open; if not, you'll need to use the nearby public parking lot.

Pasta Han Kki lets you try 50 different menu items at low prices. Every pasta dish was ₩9,900. Pasta used to feel like a fancy dish reserved for formal dates, but these days it seems like the kind of casual meal you can enjoy alone when a craving hits, or with family and friends without any fuss.

What the restaurant feels like, and can you eat alone?

Overall the place is decorated with a vibe like walking into an American city pop scene. There are lots of little details to look at, and they even have mini colas on display, including original American cola shipped all the way from overseas — fun to look around at.

The interior is done in a white-and-red tone, with foreign posters on the walls and LP records stuck up for an old-school feel — it's fun just to look around the interior. There were people eating alone at lunch, and no one seemed to mind at all; they just enjoyed their meal comfortably.

Pasta Han Kki Nowon gets busy at lunch and dinner, so much so that a seating limit of 80 minutes is sometimes applied when full — looks like you'd need to wait on weekends.

What the self bar has

At the front, the self bar has pickles, sauces, water, tissues, wet wipes, plates, and so on — just grab whatever you need.

What comes with the ₩39,500 couple set

We got two pieces of garlic baguette as a starter bread (seems like it's one per person). It had a sweet garlicky aroma, nice for cleansing the palate. We ordered the couple set for ₩39,500, choosing plump shrimp tomato pasta, plump shrimp rosé risotto, and beef flap steak with grilled vegetables.

Plump shrimp rosé risotto

The plump shrimp rosé risotto was thick and creamy with a rich rosé flavor that blended really well with the plump shrimp — delicious. Whenever it started to feel a bit too rich, a bite of pickle would fix it right up, and the whole plate would magically disappear...

Beef flap steak with grilled vegetables

The beef flap steak was thick, not tough at all, and really delicious. Paired with the grilled vegetables and sauce that came with it, it chewed soft and easy.

One plump sausage came out, which my husband and I split in half — it was nicely salty and just right. The crispy fried potatoes came out fresh from the fryer, so of course they were delicious, no need to say more.

Plump shrimp tomato pasta

The tomato pasta had noodles and sauce blended together well, tangy and sweet with a tomato aroma that wasn't overpowering — the combo of rosé and tomato flavors on the table worked really well together.

How it worked as a neighborhood dinner out for two

With how expensive everything's gotten lately, most places charge at least ₩15,000 no matter where you go — but here you can get a variety of dishes for ₩9,900, with great value and generous portions. So my husband and I decided this is a place we'll come back to for a meal out sometimes.
