There's none of the greasy smell or heaviness typical of old-school sundaeguk places — the whole restaurant is kept impressively clean. Once you order, the table is set with a neat tray of basic banchan (side dishes) that go perfectly with gukbap.

Crisp, cool cubed radish kimchi (kkakdugi) and napa cabbage kimchi, fresh chives and cheongyang peppers, onion, garlic, plus salted shrimp and ssamjang — a lean but solid lineup. As an opening event, they even served warm, chewy chapssal sundae on the house — I was touched!

There's a self-serve refill area right by the kitchen where you can freely top up on side dishes! It was clearly kept clean too, which I really appreciated.
